00:14:40Manifolds, and that what Trump says, one should not be in fact echoing those same sentiments, at least not in the country, for sure.
00:14:50However, these were the comments we had seen Rahul Gandhi make yesterday itself.
00:14:54He said that this government has in fact destroyed the economy, foreign and defence policies of the country.
00:15:01Also mentioning that the economy of India is dead.
00:15:03And that is when several leaders from the government itself has come out to slam him,
00:15:10with regards to his very remarks on India's economy being dead.

00:15:58But this is a different case, one that had indeed raised a lot of concerns.
00:16:04The verdict in one of the four cases of sexual abuse and rape registered against former Hassan MP,
00:16:10Prajwal Ravanna, is due today.
00:16:13The trial in the case concluded on July 18, and orders were reserved for July 30,
00:16:18but the Special Court then adjourned the verdict to August 1.
00:16:21The case concerns a 48-year-old woman, who was working as a helper at the family's farmhouse in Hassan,
00:16:27and was allegedly raped twice and filmed by Prajwal Ravanna.
00:16:32She was also allegedly abducted, intimidated to prevent her from testifying after the scandal broke out in April last year.
00:16:39The victim was then rescued from a farmhouse by the Special Investigation Team.
00:16:43Remember, the former MP and the son of H.D. Ravanna is the prime accused
00:16:47in multiple sexual abuse and rape cases that came to light during the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka.
00:16:53Prajwal Ravanna had fled for Germany a day after the polls and was arrested upon his return to Bengaluru.
00:16:59Now, as we speak of this very case, this is another one that we are taking you through,
00:17:06again, keeping our focus down south.
00:17:09This was, in fact, a shocking case that had come to forefront.
00:17:12In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing mass burial investigation in Karnataka's Dharmastala,
00:17:18partial skeletal remains have been found at the site No. 6 during the exhumation process,
00:17:23marking the first site to yield such evidence in the case currently under probe.
00:17:28And here is a report that we bring to you of, so far, how the investigation has proceeded.
00:17:45Day 3 of digging on the banks of the Netravathi River in the temple town of Dharmastala has come to an end
00:17:51and partial skeletal remains have been found.
00:17:57After no success at five locations, site No. 6 has yielded remains of a skeleton,
00:18:03but police sources say they are most likely male.
00:18:09Not just that, ropes, clothes, printer, laptops and other essential equipment
00:18:15were rushed to the spot No. 6 where the remains were found.
00:18:21After two unsuccessful days, the third day, special investigation team in Dharmastala mass burial case
00:18:28was able to find out skeletal remains at spot No. 6.
00:18:33Remember, spot No. 1 to 5, they couldn't find any skeletal remains.
00:18:39At No. 6, they have found out partial skeletal remains this morning.
00:18:44As we speak now, we could see in the visuals, forensic officials, digging laborers,
00:18:50Bengaluru police, as well as Dharmastala police are in the exhumation process.
00:18:55And what we get to learn through our police sources is that
00:18:57they were able to find partial skeletal remains in this particular spot.
00:19:02This excavation is part of the ongoing alleged mass burial investigation by an SIT.
00:19:13Of the 15 spots identified by the former sanitation worker who claimed
00:19:18that hundreds were buried after possible rape and torture,
00:19:2113 were accepted by SIT for investigation.
00:19:24Earlier in the excavation of the first five sites,
00:19:30the SIT denied recovering any evidence.
00:19:33But the lawyer of one of the missing girl's mother claimed
00:19:35that key items like a toned red blouse,
00:19:38ATM and pancarts bearing a man and a woman's name
00:19:41were found during the first site's exhumation.
00:19:44It all started when a former sanitation worker had alleged that he was forced
00:20:11to bury and cremate bodies of women and minors,
00:20:14with many showing signs of sexual assault between 1998 and 2014 in the Temple Town.
00:20:20The new discovery will give clarity to the SIT
00:20:23whether this time and resource-consuming probe is indeed going in the right direction.

00:22:37has now been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in the National Capital.
00:22:41And he will have to appear on the 5th of August,

00:22:45This is alleged loan fraud,
00:22:48which is to the tune of more than 12,000 crore
00:22:51that the Enforcement Directorate is investigating.
00:22:53Rightly pointed it out that
00:22:54there were multiple searches that were actually carried out
00:22:57at at least 35 locations in Mumbai alone
00:23:00in the companies related to Anil Ambani.
00:23:05That included 25 individuals who were also brought under the PMLA.
00:23:08This is regarding that particular search
00:23:11that you will now be questioned.
00:23:13The development actually came after the SEBI shared with the Enforcement Directorate
00:23:17the findings of a separate probe
00:23:19that launched into the alleged diversion of 10,000 crore
00:23:22by the Reliance infrastructure.

00:27:43a very good morning to you from India. You know, my first question to you would be, what
00:27:48we see currently with this tariff imposition is that it's been reshaping the geopolitical
00:27:53calculus of India with Washington. But more importantly, I would want your opinion on
00:27:59whether this 25% imposition is indeed let out of frustration, one would say, of Donald
00:28:06Trump in his inability to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Well, thanks
00:28:13for having me. Yeah, and I know this is a tough situation for the India-U.S. strategic
00:28:19partnership. I feel like yesterday, my time, and I guess two days ago, your time, I mean,
00:28:25it was a, it was kind of a bombshell for the relationship, right, that had otherwise been
00:28:30pretty clean and pretty, pretty, I mean, historically strong, right? And so to answer
00:28:36your question, I think that, you know, look, Trump started out on April 2nd saying that
00:28:42India would face a 26% tariff rate, and India's only been able to get that down to 25%. And
00:28:50of course, there's the threat of a potential penalty for India importing discounted barrels
00:28:55of Russian oil. And so I think what we saw in the last 24 to 48 hours was really Trump taking aim at
00:29:03India to stop them, to stop India from importing that oil, because the president has clearly been
00:29:11frustrated in dealing with Vladimir Putin, and the war in Ukraine has been escalating, right,
00:29:17not de-escalating or kind of, you know, mellowing out in some way, right? It is, in fact,
00:29:23it's been going in the opposite direction. So I think this was a clear shot across the bow that
00:29:28India's position of trying to have its cake and eat it too is simply not going to work, right?
00:29:34The relationship with the United States will not be as pleasant if India continues to import those
00:29:41barrels of oil from Russia. So I think that's a lot of what this has to do with. And frankly,
00:29:47it's unclear how it's going to proceed, right? Because Trump is relatively unpredictable.
00:29:51He's transactional. So I mean, tomorrow could bring a much better day. And the days to come
00:29:56could be could bring much better days for the US-India partnership in the future.
00:30:02Absolutely. Unpredictable is one word to define Mr. Trump, for sure. But you know,
00:30:08let's also take a look at the fact as to how the relationship has been between India and the United
00:30:14States. India has been extremely firm on its stance with non-alignment and diplomatic push for peace
00:30:20across battlegrounds in the world. And it has also had a very strong stance with regards to its zero
00:30:26tolerism towards terrorism and the Operation Sindhu, where it said that, you know, there's no third world
00:30:32interference, third country interference that we need when we are dealing with Pakistan and especially
00:30:37on the matter of terrorism. And despite that, we see this particular imposition of tariff coming in
00:30:43after months of talks. How would you say India should be dealing with the United States at this
00:30:49point diplomatically? Yeah, well, I think what we've seen from New Delhi so far is actually quite a sort
00:30:56of patient and a patient approach and an attempt to kind of understand the United States's actions
00:31:05here. Although, you know, it is pretty surprising, right, what happened on July 30th. And I don't
00:31:13know how much more patient India can be, especially with, I mean, 25 percent tariffs is, you know, going
00:31:20to have, I think, dramatic negative impacts on India's economy. But also, I mean, with.
00:31:27We will try and get back that connection with Derek J. Grossman, who is joining us
00:31:38on this very matter. And Mr. Grossman, if you can hear us and please continue your thoughts.

00:31:49I mean, what does it say about the relationship, right, to have a 25 percent tariff against, you know,
00:31:56one of your key partners in the Indo-Pacific, a fellow democratic country, right, soon to be as,
00:32:04you know, your team said at the outset, the world's third largest economy, right? I mean,
00:32:10that doesn't send a good message at all. And I kind of wonder how the Trump administration is now
00:32:15thinking about having India play a role in the Indo-Pacific strategy to counter China, because
00:32:22that seems like it's really going by the wayside if we're not careful here. And as you mentioned,
00:32:28you know, post the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindor, I mean, the comments coming from President
00:32:33Trump were not, you know, in, were not the ones that India wanted to hear, right? I mean, this notion
00:32:41that the U.S. brokered the ceasefire with Pakistan, for example. And then, of course, you know,
00:32:46later meeting with the Pakistani field marshal at the White House. These have, these have,
00:32:52these cracks are kind of widening in the India-U.S. strategic partnership. And I
00:32:56really hope it does not continue, because it's going to disrupt an otherwise historically strong
00:33:04and very cooperative and mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.

00:34:02President Putin was smart. I said, of course he's smart, to which I was greeted with, oh, that's
00:34:08such a terrible thing to say. It wasn't too long ago when U.S. President Donald Trump showered
00:34:15Russian President Vladimir Putin with praise. In a world where few dead to compliment the Kremlin
00:34:21leader, Trump stood out calling Putin smart and strong and even referring him to as a friend.
00:34:28He's a very smart guy. He's a very cunning person. And the sentiment seemed mutual. President Putin
00:34:36maintained a notably cordial relationship with Trump. The rapport was one of the most surprising
00:34:42romance on the global stage that nobody saw coming. First of all, I can tell you his behavior at the
00:34:51moment of the attempt on his life impressed me. He turned out to be a courageous man.
00:34:56Please don't be angry. I understand that we could talk more. But it is so awkward to make
00:35:04him wait, he could get offended. Thank you very much. Good luck.
00:35:11Trump never directly criticized Russia for launching the war against Ukraine. Instead,
00:35:16he repeatedly questioned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy's actions and leadership.
00:35:21At one point, his administration even paused military aid to Ukraine, a decision that was
00:35:28later reversed. But the once warm Trump-Putin friendship seems to have taken a sad turn.
00:35:35After multiple attempts to mediate a deal between Russia and Ukraine, Trump was less disappointed
00:35:41and his diplomatic efforts met with silence from a leader he once called a friend.
00:35:46However, Trump did not held back his criticism of President Putin. On several occasions, he
00:35:54publicly called out the Russian leader for his failure to strike a ceasefire and even issued
00:35:59an ultimatum for Russia.
00:36:01I'm disappointed in President Putin because I thought we would have had a deal two months ago, but it
00:36:07doesn't seem to get there. So based on that, we're going to be doing secondary tariffs if we don't have
00:36:13a deal in 50 days. It's very simple. And they'll be at 100%. And that's the way it is. It can be more
00:36:20simple. It's just the way it is. I hope we don't have to do it.
00:36:22He even threatened Russia with fresh sanctions and 100% secondary tariff measures that could
00:36:30seriously impact the Russian economy. But just like his shifting stance on trade deals,
00:36:36Trump's position on Russia continues to evolve. What began as a 50-day ultimatum has now been
00:36:43shortened to just 10 to 12 days.
00:36:45I'm going to make a new deadline of about 10 or 12 days from today. No reason they're waiting.
00:36:56There's no reason they're waiting. It's 50 days. I want to be generous, but
00:37:01we just don't see any progress being made.
00:37:05But what remains the real concern isn't the Trump-Putin dynamic, but how Ukraine continues to

00:38:01that India's economy is dead and accused the Prime Minister of killing it. However, this remark has
00:38:07drawn flak from across the board. Grammy winner Rikki Kaj and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister
00:38:13Pawan Kalyan slammed Rahul for echoing US tone. Rikki Kaj has claimed that it seems that Rahul Gandhi
00:38:19seems to derive pleasure from bringing down India. Pawan Kalyan also said that making such statements for
00:38:24political gain at the cost of India's dignity and global stand is deeply irresponsible.

00:39:00that the economy is dead is something that even your own alliance members have come out to disagree
00:39:06with. Even they have come out to say that this is not the case and what Trump has done with the
00:39:10imposition of these tariffs isn't correct. Good morning. We need to understand the
00:39:21basic argument of the leader of opposition. He's been consistently saying that the way
00:39:27India's economy has depended on Adani's progress, the way Mr. Modi is handing over all the wealth
00:39:36towards one man in making him richer and richer and richer. 11 years he has worked
00:39:43timelessly for the vikas of Adani. And Adani has become the only person who gets all the wealth
00:39:49of India. And if Adani's market is disturbed on Adani, on any kind of thing, Indian markets completely
00:40:00start shaking up. It has become more Adani dependent economy. And this is not the economy
00:40:05which before 2014 we are in the numerator. Yes, in the numerator. It was an economy which has been
00:40:12built on many factors. It was not on one person's, one industrial houses dependent in
00:40:18India's economy was running. Now it is not like that. And we know that through the wrong
00:40:23definitions on the GST or implementation part or the demonetization part, he has destroyed 43
00:40:31percentage of the MSME sector. And these are all the facts in the ground. Everywhere people have lost
00:40:39jobs. MSMEs have been closed 43. It's all data says. But the government data will show some other
00:40:46thing because they want to get us convinced that it is only Adani's growth and number matters for us.
00:40:53And with numbers, you may say that we are in four, we are in 70, whatever you say, you can keep on
00:40:58saying that. But the government is hiding these numbers and they work for only Adani. The argument
00:41:04is very simple that these same gentlemen, whomever that Grammy Awards guy or the
00:41:12Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Pawan Kalyan, should have had the same anger to say to Mr.
00:41:20Modi that why you are keeping mum when Trump is calling you that 28 times that he has stopped the war,
00:41:28cease fire. Pakistan, where were they? Where was Pawan? Where was the TJ? Where they are?
00:41:36They are living in India or somewhere else? Why this anger is not there? When India is insulted
00:41:41by Trump again and again and again. And yesterday, what happened? 25%, he announced
00:41:46that 25% tariff is put on India. And then he comes up with the story that India will get an oil drilling
00:41:59company there in Pakistan. And one day India will buy the oil from Pakistan. Where are they? Where is
00:42:06Pawan Kalyan? Where are the ministers who are not going to name Mr. Trump? Mr. Tagore, I think the problem here is
00:42:12with the terminology and echoing the sentiment that has been put forward by Donald Trump himself. The
00:42:20Indian economy being called dead at a time like this, that is pretty much why all others are coming
00:42:26out to say that Rahul Gandhi continues to be a spokesperson for countries like China, for that
00:42:32matter. Or, as we have seen, he is blamed for, in fact, bringing down the country's image
00:42:38across foreign platforms. At least that is what they have to say. That is the problem that has been
00:42:43pinpointed at here. The terminology used.
00:42:47The problem with, you are also repeating their words. The problem is that the ecosystem of Mr.
00:42:52Modi and the RSS speaks this things. They don't find fault with Trump saying it, slapping 25 times.
00:43:00And maybe 25 percent of the tariff on it. Not even the ministry who is making a statement in the floor of
00:43:08the house is not taking the name of Trump. The problem with this government is it is so surrendered to
00:43:15this situation. They have made the government. The government has made the country to be surrendered.
00:43:20And the country is suffering because of it. Europe are in the world because of unemployment.
00:43:25One percentage of the wealth is in the one percentage of Indians control the 60 percent of the wealth.
00:43:32The problem is that we are not able to understand the gravity where we are moving. The 11 years are
00:43:37becoming painful years for all the Indians. Unemployment has risen. MSBs have been destroyed. Farmers are
00:43:44suffering. And we are in the ecosystem where everything is saying that India is growing.

00:50:48and Guru Murthy and Gopalakrishna, the main accused, were shot in the legs and apprehended by the police.
00:50:5313-year-old Nishit, son of a college professor, was abducted while returning from tuition.
00:50:59His body was discovered last evening near the Banerghatta forest area.
00:51:03Police opened fire in self-defense after the accused attempted to attack them with lethal weapons while resisting arrest.

00:53:15Today's verdict day, verdict in one of the four cases of sexual abuse and rape registered against former Hassan MP, Prajral Ravana, is due today.
00:53:22The trial in the case concluded on July 18th and orders were reserved for July 30th.
00:53:26But the special court then had turned the verdict to August 1.
00:53:29The case concerns a 48-year-old woman who was working as a help at the family's farmhouse in Hassan
00:53:35and was allegedly raped twice and filmed by Prajral Ravana.
00:53:38She was also allegedly abducted and intimidated to prevent her from testifying after the scandal broke out in April last year.
00:53:46The victim was then rescued from a farmhouse by the special investigation team.
00:53:50Remember, the former MP and the son of H.D. Ravana is the prime accused in multiple sexual abuse and rape cases
00:53:56that came to light during the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka.
00:53:59Prajral Ravana had fled for Germany a day after the polls and was arrested upon his return to Bengaluru.
00:54:06And this is the particular story that we will be keeping our focus on through the day as we expect the very verdict to come out.
00:54:12Remember, this was a case that was first highlighted in 2024 April when the first complaint had been filed.
00:54:20With that, there were several other videos that had come to light in association to this very case
00:54:25where the victims were claiming A, being raped and B, being filmed by Prajral Ravana himself.
00:54:31Quite serious allegations that kept mounting and post which he even fled.
00:54:36And there was a notice that was issued to in fact bring him back to the country post his return.
00:54:41He was arrested by a team that had been formed, by a team of SID members that had been formed for the investigation.

00:54:52And just to rejog our memories of the case, what were all the videos that had come to light
00:54:59and the evidence that had been presented by the victims in the very investigation of this case?
00:55:06See, it was a high-profile crime in the state of Karnataka, where there are allegations that he has sexually assaulted
00:55:17and raped multiple women in Hassan district.
00:55:21And there were close to three to four complaints which have been registered against a former MP, Prajral Ravana.
00:55:27In this connection, he was arrested when he had returned from Germany and he was taken into custody.
00:55:32And there are multiple cases which are still ongoing, which have been heard in the court.
00:55:36And this is one such case where it was registered at Holenarsipura in Hassan district, where the verdict will be pronounced.
00:55:44And even if he gets bail in this particular case, he will still remain inside the prison
00:55:49because there are trials which is happening in three other cases in the court.

00:56:22And a significant breakthrough in the ongoing mass burial investigation in Karnataka's Dharmasthala.
00:56:28Partial skeletal remains have been found at Site No. 6 during the exhumation process,
00:56:33marking the first site to yield such evidence in the case currently under investigation.

00:56:38Day 3 of digging on the banks of the Netravathi River in the temple town of Dharmasthala has come to an end
00:56:56and partial skeletal remains have been found.
00:57:02After no success at five locations, Site No. 6 has yielded remains of a skeleton,
00:57:07but police sources say they are most likely male.
00:57:14Not just that, ropes, clothes, printer, laptops and other essential equipment were rushed to the spot No. 6
00:57:21where the remains were found.
00:57:26After two unsuccessful days, the third day, special investigation team in Dharmasthala
00:57:31mass burial case was able to find out skeletal remains at spot No. 6.
00:57:37Remember, spot No. 1 to 5, they couldn't find any skeletal remains at No. 6.
00:57:43They have found out partial skeletal remains this morning.
00:57:48As we speak now, we could see in the visuals, forensic officials, digging laborers,
00:57:53Bengaluru police as well as Dharmasthala police are in the exhumation process.
00:57:59And what we get to learn through our police sources is that they were able to find partial skeletal remains
00:58:05in this particular spot.
00:58:06This excavation is part of the ongoing alleged mass burial investigation by an SIT.
00:58:18Of the 15 spots identified by the former sanitation worker who claimed that hundreds were buried
00:58:23after possible rape and torture, 13 were accepted by SIT for investigation.
00:58:31Earlier in the excavation of the first five sites, the SIT denied recovering any evidence.
00:58:36But the lawyer of one of the missing girl's mother claimed that key items like a toned red blouse,
00:58:41ATM and pancarts bearing a man and a woman's name were found during the first site's exhumation.
00:58:47It all started when a former sanitation worker had alleged that he was forced to bury and cremate
00:59:15bodies of women and minors with many showing signs of sexual assault between 1998 and 2014 in the Temple town.
00:59:24The new discovery will give clarity to the SIT whether this time and resource-consuming probe
00:59:30is indeed going in the right direction.
