00:05several senators are backing a resolution urging judicial reconsideration.
00:09The measure aims to uphold constitutional balance among the branches of government
00:13ahead of a key Senate debate on August 6.

00:19A draft resolution in the Senate titled,
00:22Expressing the Sense of the Senate Regarding the Application of Fairness Principle and the Doctrine of Operative Facts
00:30in Judicial Proceedings Concerning Impeachment Complaints is Currently Circulating.
00:35The resolution reads that it is the Senate's position that a reconsideration by the Supreme Court of its ruling
00:42would reconcile the constitutional provisions on the High Court's power of judicial review,
00:48the House of Representatives' power to initiate impeachment complaints,
00:53and the Senate's power to try and rule on such cases.
00:57According to Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, four senators including him,
01:01Senators Risa Ontiveros, Bam Aquino, and Tito Soto already signed the draft resolution.

02:06However, he firmly maintains that they should comply with the court's decision.
02:12Meanwhile, if Sen. Erwin Tulfo will be asked,

02:31Even the spokesperson of the VP said we're ready.
02:35We will prove that the VP did not violate the Constitution.
02:41Sen. President Francis Escudero hasn't seen the draft resolution yet, but he will await its filing.
02:48But he noted that with or without a resolution, they already agreed in caucus to fix a date in August 6
02:54to debate and act on the issue of impeachment in light of ESE's decision.
