Transcript
00:00Hello and welcome to your Rangers Transfer News Bulletin.
00:06The latest in all things comings and goings at Ibrox in what has been a busy start to the summer window so far for Russell Martin's side.
00:15Seven new signings in the door, of which Digi Gassama has looked the most impressive.
00:21He scored in last night's Champions League draw against Panathinaikos,
00:25a one-all draw out in Athens to secure Rangers' place in the third qualifying round of the tournament.
00:32Of course, they have ambitions of reaching the lucrative league phase of the competition
00:37and they'll be hoping to overcome Victoria Pilsen up next.
00:41As for the others who were brought in so far this summer,
00:44Joe Rothwell is forming a decent partnership alongside Nicholas Raskin in the middle of the park.
00:50Max Ahrens has been played out position.
00:52Naturally, a right-back. He was brought in on loan from AFC Bournemouth and has been filling in at left-back.
00:58It's kind of blown hot and cold, it's safe to say, so far.
01:01Rangers fans still do get their first glimpse of fellow Asgard, the Norwegian international,
01:07who cost ÂŁ3.5 million from Luton Town.
01:10And in terms of potential outgoings,
01:13there's still the possibility that Rangers could be light in the striking department
01:17with both Hamza Igaman and Cyril Dessers still linked with moves away this summer.
01:22Dessers, who is in talks with AAK Athens over a move to Greece.
01:28And Hamza Igaman, who's the one who could potentially fetch a significant fee.
01:33The French side, Lille, have been in pursuit of him for some time.
01:38However, in recent weeks, their interest appears to have cooled slightly.
01:42And Dutch giants Feyenoord have entered the race for his signature.
01:47Rangers standing firm on their valuation of over ÂŁ17 million for Hamza Igaman.
01:53A long list of names have been touted as possible incomings, though, this summer.
01:57Rangers still retaining an interest in Dore Terjaman,
02:01the Israeli striker who plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
02:04And his club teammate Wesley Plataia as a potential option in the wider areas.
02:11They've also got a strong interest in Oliver Antman,
02:14who's a full Finland international.
02:16He would cost around ÂŁ5 million from go-ahead Eagles in the Eredivisie.
02:22In terms of other possibilities, they're looking at Jezerin Raksaki,
02:26the Crystal Palace youngster has been told he has no future at Selhurst Park
02:31under Oliver Glasner, not part of his long-term plans.
02:35Rangers exploring an initial loan deal there with a potential ÂŁ10 million option to buy.
02:41So that's one to certainly keep an eye on over the next couple of days
02:46to see if there's further movement there.
02:49But Russell Martin, one thing's for sure,
02:51with the Scottish Premiership season getting underway this weekend,
02:55and so far progressing in the Champions League,
02:58we'll be hoping that he can finalise the shape of his squad
03:02going into the new season as quickly as possible.
03:05Certainly, you'd imagine another area of the park you'll also look at
03:08is the central defensive area with Xavi Zumbuya,
03:12who was formerly linked with Celtic a few years ago,
03:15one of a number of targets.
03:16Of course, alongside Connor Cody, the Leicester City defender,
03:21who can also play as a holding midfielder,
03:24has been a long-term target for Rangers all summer.
