00:25Welcome to Kurt Coy, midway between Istanbul and the state capital of Ankara.
00:30Home of the Turkish Grand Prix.
00:33And, well, there are some question marks as to whether the organisers here will pay the $26 million of race fee for future Grand Prixs.
00:42So, savour this great, great circuit.
00:45It might be our last chance.
00:47And what a track it is.
00:49It's a 5.3km lap designed by Herman Tilke, specifically actually with a lot of the corners copying some of the best corners of other circuits that have held Formula 1 Grand Prix.
01:19All cars are now in position.
01:22And as ever, the five red lights illuminate.
01:25And as they go out, the Turkish Grand Prix is go.
01:29Which of the Red Bulls is going to lead the stampede?
01:32And that is another slow start from one of the Red Bulls.
01:36Sebastian Vettel comfortably into lead.
01:39And Nikon Rosberg in hot pursuit.
01:41Yeah, dirty side of the track, just paying the price for that, obviously, for Weber and both McLarens in reality.
01:47Challenge here from the, I think that's button onto, oh, he goes wide.
01:51And a real, really aggressive piece of defending and it has led to contact between Vitaly Petrov and Michael Schumacher.
01:59Unnecessary, I would have thought, at this stage in the race.
02:02Schumacher straight into the pits.
02:04And he's going to be doing a tyre change and a front wing change on the Mercedes.
02:07That has ruined Michael Schumacher's race.
02:09Now, let's have a look at this, Michael Schumacher.
02:11Is that a fair defence?
02:12Um, almost.
02:14I would have almost said that that's Petrov partly outbraking himself.
02:16Yes, I mean, I think Michael's move was one move as such.
02:19And Petrov obviously just couldn't quite get the car stopped.
02:22Petrov's car should be okay.
02:24It's a start-finish like Jenson Button getting a good slipstream toe on Lewis Hamilton.
02:28Can he get his nose alongside?
02:29Can he keep his nose alongside?
02:31Yes, he does.
02:32That was a driver of the mover because, at the end of the day, you can't use the DRS system there.
02:36It's only down the back straight.
02:38So these two guys are having a bit of a ding-dong.
02:40Now, Massa came into the pits just ahead of Hamilton.
02:43And, whoa!
02:45How close was that?
02:47Now, they're not allowed anymore to overtake in the pit lane.
02:51That is one that we'll have to ponder and wonder what the stewards will take an interest in that.
02:56Have a look at it from Matt.
02:57Remember, the driver can't see where the other car is.
03:00Whoa!
03:00And he's very nearly spun the car on the paint on the blue line.
03:04How about this for Michael Schumacher desperately trying to avoid a drag reduction system overtaking maneuver by Kamui Kabayashi.
03:12And, again, Michael Schumacher gets hit.
03:14This time by Adrian Sutil.
03:15Oh, the rest of it does a good job of anchoring it all up.
03:18And then Sutil just loses it as Schumacher comes across him.
03:21Meanwhile, another slow pit stop and a disaster from Lewis Hamilton.
03:26That front wheel will not come off his McLaren.
03:31See you in 20.
03:33Let's have a look here.
03:34The tyres did come off.
03:35The tyres did come off, but it then wouldn't lock back on on the right front.
03:37Look at all the work going on down there.
03:39And that was the problem for Lewis Hamilton.
03:41And that means that Hamilton, in terms of track position, slipped to sixth place.
03:46Mark Webber, fastest lap of the race so far.
03:48129.945.
03:50He is closing in like a rocket on Fernando Alonso.
03:54There is Vettel race leader.
03:56There is second place Fernando Alonso.
03:58And there is Mark Webber in third place.
04:01And he's now got within 1.7 seconds of the Ferrari.
04:05This is going to be now a straight fight on the racetrack.
04:08Brilliant.
04:09There he is.
04:10He's in a position to attack this time.
04:12No speculation.
04:14Just the move.
04:15Drag reduction system rear wing.
04:17But Alonso takes him deep into the braking area.
04:19Webber muscles his way through.
04:21Now, can Alonso fight back next lap?
04:23Meanwhile, the cars behind him scrapped.
04:25But it's Sebastian Vettel who takes victory.
04:28And Vettel's 13th Grand Prix win.
04:32And this one isn't lucky or unlucky.
04:34It is just a perfectly controlled race.
04:36Meanwhile, Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso battle to the line.
04:41Second and third places for the Red Bull and the Ferrari.
04:46Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton is heading for fourth position.
04:49Behind him it will be Nico Rosberg on the way to fifth.
04:52With Jenson Button in sixth place.
04:54Nick Heidfeld seventh.
04:55Sebastian Vajemi eighth.
04:57Vitaly Pekrov ninth.
04:58And Kamoe Kabayashi came in the final championship point.
05:01After starting last, fighting his way through to ten.
05:05Yeah, a good run.
05:06I mean, it's from the back.
05:07He had a fun race.
05:08An interesting race passing all those cars.
05:10So, nabbing a point out at the end of the day.
05:13Pretty good reward for that effort.
05:15You know what?
05:161.2 seconds between Webber and Alonso.
05:18If this had been a 59 lap race rather than a 58 lap race.
05:22I would have put money on that Ferrari ground in second place.
05:26But the race is 58 laps.
05:28Alonso just ran out of time.
05:29And Webber controlled the situation perfectly.
05:32As indeed did his teammate Sebastian Vettel.
05:34Winner of the Turkish Grand Prix.
05:37And a big smile there on the Red Bull racing pit wall.
05:41As you can well imagine.
05:44Because that was a fantastic job by Red Bull racing to go 1.2.
05:50Yeah, championship position obviously Vettel just pulls away there Merrily.
05:54He's got 93 points now.
05:55Which is a massive amount of points Vettel on the radio.
05:58You beauty set.
05:59Brilliant job.
06:00Well done.
06:01Great drive.
06:02Well done.
06:03Woo-hoo!
06:04Yes!
06:05Yes!
06:06That's what I'm talking about.
06:09What a race.
06:10Control from beginning to the end.
06:14I'm proud of you.
06:19And as Sebastian Vettel gets the congratulations from the marshals.
06:24And heads down pit lane.
06:25Gary, a word about the team at the tail end of the order.
06:29The Rencar Decay of Antonio Vinci propping up the finishes.
06:32But both cars to the Chepet flag.
06:34And that development time is absolutely vital for Hispania when they head to their home race in Barcelona.
06:39Yes, it is really.
06:40You know, Luiz, he qualified ahead of Timo Glock.
06:43But that's another hurdle for them.
06:45And they finished the race.
06:46You know, okay, they're one lap and two laps down.
06:49But so is Heike Kovalainen.
06:51He's, you know, dropping down the field as well.
06:54No, Kartikin there for three laps, sorry.
06:56But it's, you know, they're moving in the right direction.
06:58They're out there, they're racing and they're reliable.
07:00But this bloke here is probably happier than they are today.
07:03Well, Sebastian Vettel, another dominant performance.
07:07And I'm sure we're going to see the typical Vettel stand on kart celebration in just a moment's time.
07:14This is now something which is becoming a bit of a habit for the young German.
07:18There we go.
07:19What's that one all about?
07:21Sebastian Vettel celebrates success and goes over to take the congratulations of a euphoric red bull racing team.
07:30And I think that was his dad that's there, in fact, that was sharing the moment with Sebastian.
07:37Meanwhile, Mark Webber climbs out of his red bull racing car and just look at that delight from the red bull team.
07:44A one-two for red bull racing.
07:46Dare I say it, Gary, a bit like Ferrari a few years ago, Michael Schumacher.
07:50But I think a whole lot more interesting.
07:53It's just the achievement of the weekend.
07:55You can win it by luck or you can win it by pure level of competitiveness.
07:58There's a different thing.
08:00You know, the races I've won have always made it through a bit of a strange decision or something queer has happened
08:05because I've never been really with the team with the budget and the manpower to justify it.
08:09But for red bull, I mean, it's a big, big achievement.
08:12They've brought the team from a very small team.
08:15A lot of the guys there I was responsible for employing the Jaguar went on to be in red bull.
08:20And it just shows that pure dedication, a good budget, obviously.
08:23They have good money to put the people together.
08:26Done.
08:28Well, the applause for Vettel as the trophies are presented.
08:35Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso, of course, flanking the race winner.
08:40But, Gary, pressure must be on Ferrari particularly.
08:43Not just in terms of overall performance, but in the fact that they only seem to get one driver into the point.
08:49What is going on with Felipe Alonso?
08:51Well, obviously he's fighting a little bit at the moment.
08:53I think the car is not obviously the best car in the world.
08:56For example, you know, the car here in Turkey had a different exhaust system on Alonso's car from Masa's car.
09:03So maybe he's just not getting the bits.
09:05And when a race team comes to putting bits in the car, not always can they make up two car sets of stuff or three car sets of stuff.
09:12So I'm sure priority is going to Alonso.
09:14But actually, whenever you think, you know, Alonso finished 1.2 seconds behind Mark Webber.
09:18That's not too bad.
09:20He started fifth in the group.
09:21Whoever started second, he did a good job.
09:23I think Fernando Alonso is perhaps punching above the weight of the Ferrari team at the moment.
09:28It will be interesting to see what they can do when they go to his home track of Barcelona in just two weeks' time.
09:35With three Grand Prix's in four weeks, the pressure really is on these teams.
09:40But there is no pressure on Red Bull at the moment other than the pressure of that champagne.
09:47And if there is a shower that is well deserved, it's that for Mark Webber and for Sebastian Vettel and for the Red Bull Racing team.
09:54We've come, seen and at last conquered in Istanbul.
09:58A fantastic race.
10:00And from me, Steve Slater, and from Gary Anderson, we simply cannot wait for the next two races of the month coming up in Barcelona and Monte Carlo.
10:11This is becoming a season like the champagne to savour.
10:16Yeah, fantastic races.
10:18It's the difficult one with the DRS system here, obviously, because I think it's a bit too easy.
10:23Barcelona will be a different story.
10:25Monaco, they're not going to use it.
10:26So we'll really see by then what's the important thing.
