00:00Okay, so I'm about to watch some footage of Roy, which I'm a little bit nervous about.
00:24Oh my gosh!
00:35Not very nice. You've got a tough job, haven't you?
00:50Yes. He is okay now though. Yes.
00:52He is alright. Yes.
00:53And so unfortunately he was a victim of deliberate cruelty.
00:56I can see that.
00:57We do see this quite a lot in my job.
01:00Yeah.
01:01But it is quite shocking. It was upsetting to me as well. So, yeah.
01:05It's like, because you're not...
01:06You're not ready for it.
01:07Well, yeah, because I think when somebody says a dog's abused, you sort of have an idea in your head of what that could be.
01:14Yeah. To see it on camera is very...
01:17But like that, I was not expecting that. The scariest thing is how much this goes on behind closed doors. And those poor animals can't speak for themselves. So that's why it's even more distressing and sad.
01:33Poor animals on the brunt end of people that are angry.
01:37Yeah.
01:38Taking it out on innocent animals.
01:39Yeah, exactly.
01:40Yeah.
01:41Yeah, that was a tough watch.
01:43But I'm very much excited to meet Roy now and see him happy and healthy with loving, caring owners. So, let's put that away.
01:53Let's go.
01:54That's horrible. Let's go and do something nice.
01:57Oh, I love that.
01:59Oh, how nice.
02:01Oh, what a lovely, beautiful doggy, aren't you?
02:05And obviously he was quite nervous when I brought him in.
02:08Yep.
02:09Can you come out, Michelle?
02:10Yeah, definitely.
02:11Lovely.
02:12I mean, just this now, when we saw some people, he wouldn't go up to people.
02:18Really?
02:19So he's definitely out of his shell.
02:21He's a beautiful dog, isn't he?
02:23Aren't you lovely?
02:24Look at your little face.
02:26Oh, you're lovely.
02:28It's almost like looking at a different dog to the dog that I saw in the video.
02:35I'm going to go home feeling hopeful and not as sad because seeing that video was very distressing.
02:45And, you know, my heart absolutely breaks for all the dogs that are not in a fortunate position that he is in right now with incredible owners that love him and care for him.
02:55So, you know, it's so nice to see the other side because if we don't have hope, what do we have?
03:02You know, they're just such special animals that have so much to give us.
03:05We get so much from them that they deserve the best.
03:08So it's so lovely.
03:09The sun is shining.
03:11He's happy and beautiful, beautiful dog.
03:16I want him.
03:19And I can't have him.
03:21Lovely.
03:22Seeing what Roy went through and how he has recovered has blown my mind today.
03:27I've got so much respect for the RSPCA staff and everything that they have done to get Roy where he is today.
03:34Sadly, Roy's story isn't uncommon.
03:37The RSPCA are overwhelmed with calls about animal cruelty throughout the summer months.
03:42So please, if you can, support our summer cruelty appeal.
03:46Together, we can save animals like Roy and get them the care and love they desperately need.
