Faris Al Rawi is warning the government about retaining the use of Anand Ramlogan to champion its cases, and when it comes to alleged CEPEP corruption he says UNC spent more than the PNM on the program.

00:00Former local government minister Faris al-Rawi responds to CPAP corruption claims saying the previous incarnation of the UNC spent more on CPAP than the PNM.
00:11In the year 2014 to 2015, the subvention from the UNC was $725,705,808. Let me repeat that. $726 million was spent in CPAP.
00:28As compared to $358 million spent by the PNM government. You would note that in that period of time, CPAP wasn't the only program that Mrs. Passard-Bissessor ran. She ran the live sport program.
00:44He also condemned the government for maintaining ties with senior counsel Anand Ramlogan.
00:49Mr. Anand Ramlogan is the senior counsel of choice for this government.
00:56And Mr. Ramlogan, I would like to put on the record, is a fellow that has, in my view, a few questions to ask of himself and to answer.
01:06Mr. Anand Ramlogan, it is not lost upon me, is the subject of several written statements from me given to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service at their request.
01:19Let me repeat that. The police came to me and asked me to give written statements on Anand Ramlogan.
01:26He says Ramlogan is the subject of civil action by the Office of the Attorney General and referenced today's appeal court ruling on the King's Council, Vincent Nelson matter.
01:37On at least 11 occasions, Mr. Nelson has confessed to guilt, which he has been sentenced, convicted and sentenced for.
01:49And he has never recanted the statements that he made now at least 11 times, including before the DPP in a plea agreement,
02:00a high court judge, a magistrate, a high court again, the court of appeal, et cetera.
02:08He has never recanted his statement that he engaged in bribery and that he paid bribes to people, including Mr. Anand Ramlogan.
