00:02Mr. President, President Obama said there's no starvation in Gaza.
00:06Do you agree with that essentially?
00:07I don't know. I mean, based on television, I would say not particularly,
00:11because those children look very hungry.
00:13But we're giving a lot of money and a lot of food,
00:16and other nations are now stepping up.
00:18I know that this nation is right here.
00:20It's a humanitarian crisis. It's an absolute catastrophe.
00:23But nobody wants to see that.
00:25And I think people in Britain are revolted at seeing what they're seeing on their screens.
00:30So we've got to get to that ceasefire.
00:31And thank you, Mr. President, for leading on that,
00:34and also to just get more and more aid in.
00:37And again, America's done a lot on this. A lot of countries have done a lot.
00:40We're now working with Jordan on getting direct aid drops in.
00:45But this is a desperate situation.
00:46Mr. President, do you think Israel has done oil candles for doing civilian casualties in Gaza?
00:51Well, I think nobody's done anything great over there.
00:56The whole place is a mess.
00:58It'll get straightened out, but it's a mess.
01:00They have to get food and safety right now.
01:04And ultimately, look, Hamas did a horrible thing.
01:08And they paid a big price, but Hamas did a horrible thing.
01:11But I always said, when you get down to the last 20 or 10, they're down to 20.
01:16We got a lot of hostages out.
01:18And you helped us, by the way.
01:20But we got a lot of hostages out over the last six months that I've been in.
01:24I've been in office for six months now.
01:26And these hostages have been, I mean, many of them have come to the Oval Office
01:31and they've thanked me so profusely.
01:33I said, you don't have to thank me.
01:34I did what I have to do.
01:36But I always said, when you get down to the final 20, they won't release them
01:40because that's like their shield.
01:42Very unfair.
01:44And so something's going to have to be done.
01:45And they were really unwilling to talk.
01:48But I've said that.
01:49You'll get down to the final 10 or 20.
01:51It turns out to be 20.
01:53I thought that would be the number.
01:54I said, they're not going to be dealing with us.
01:56And, you know, many of the hostages are now dead.
01:59You know that.
02:00And parents come up to me.
02:02A woman came up to me two weeks ago.
02:04She just wants her son back.
02:06And I said, how is he doing?
02:08My son's dead, sir.
02:09But he's with them.
02:10And we want the body.
02:12She wanted the body of this young boy, of her young, beautiful son,
02:15just as much as if he were alive.
02:17It was just as important.
02:18There was no difference.
02:20And it's a very, it's a tragic situation, frankly.
02:25But we got a lot out.
02:28And now possibly the fight will have to be a little bit different.
02:32But they have totally changed now.
02:33They don't want to give hostages.
02:37Very unfair.
02:37You have 20 living people, in this case living.
02:41You have many dead people, too, that they want to get in.
