00:00One player that I would almost guarantee gets moved.
00:03Do not believe, folks, what the Diamondbacks are saying.
00:05Eugenio Suarez, on an expiring deal, the Diamondbacks are not going to hold him
00:10and just try to extend him at the end of the year.
00:12It's a silly, silly talk.
00:14They're going to cash in here in some way.
00:17He has 36 home runs, and we haven't even hit August yet.
00:2287 runs driven in, 249 batting average.
00:24That's not what he's made for.
00:26George Eugenio Suarez has 312 career home runs.
00:31This guy is going to have 400 career home runs,
00:34which puts you on the verge of the Hall of Fame, which is insane.
00:38You'd never consider this guy as a Hall of Famer.
00:41I was being a little facetious, clearly, with his lifetime batting average
00:46and on-base percentage.
00:48I don't know that he would qualify for something like this, but I digress.
00:52I don't know where Suarez is going to go, George,
00:55but he will not be a Diamondback this time next week.
00:58I don't buy anything that's being said there.
01:01Yeah, I agree with you.
01:02I think, once again, we always hear, no, he's not available.
01:05You're trying to drive the price up, right?
01:07I think Cashman for the Yankees did kick the tires on this,
01:10maybe even wanted him, but the price was too high,
01:12not when you need other needs.
01:14And there are teams.
01:15Listen, we talked about the Mariners.
01:17I don't know if they're going to go back to this.
01:19They already got nailed it.
01:20Probably not.
01:21The Cubs, you know, do they believe in Matt Shorten
01:23now for the rest of the season, or do they want to upgrade there?
01:26How about the Brewers?
01:27You know, they're sort of battling each other for it.
01:29All right, Brewers could use a, you know,
01:30a third baseman there, a good third baseman.
01:32So you can hear his name a bunch here,
01:35as far as the Philadelphia Phillies.
01:37If they strike out at a closer, you know,
01:41or top reliever here, they might say,
01:42you know, let's see if we can bludgeon teams to death there.
01:45Alec Baum just went on the IL for them.
01:47So maybe he could be an addition there as well.
01:49Although, once again,
01:50I think they'll be going for bullpen pieces.
01:52So I would be very surprised, you know,
01:54if come 6-0-1 Thursday night, he's not on another team.
01:59All right.
01:59I think he'll be moved there.
02:01As far as, you know, it's a different topic here.
02:04But the Hall of Fame voters are going to have a,
02:06we're going to get a lot of guys who aren't Hall of Famers
02:08who are going to have 400 home runs.
02:09It's just the way today's game is.
02:10Swing as hard as you can and hit the ball a mile.
02:13The game has changed.
02:14So they're going to have to make some weird decisions here,
02:16whatever, 10, 15 years down the line here,
02:18about a whole bunch of players.
02:20Are they really Hall of Famers now?
02:21Because they hit 400 home runs, maybe even 500.
02:25Hall of Fame ceremony tomorrow in Cooperstown.
02:28All right.
02:28Luis Robert, once upon a time,
02:31a superstar type player in baseball.
02:33Last couple of years hasn't gone that way.
02:35And so any team acquiring him,
02:37George, is going to bet on the environment
02:39just being awful for him in Chicago.
02:41Although, look, sometimes players emerge on bad teams.
02:45This has not been the case for Robert.
02:47It's kind of like two years in a row
02:49where he hasn't been maybe his best,
02:51if that's fair to say.
02:5326 stolen bases, 10 home runs.
02:57I think he'll be on the move too.
02:58Some team will find a way.
03:00But I don't think there's any guarantees
03:01with Robert being who he was back in,
03:04I think, 21, 22.
03:06I don't know.
03:07I think, once again, I'd be surprised
03:11if he's not moved here.
03:13The Y-Tex is going to have to eat it here.
03:15He was once a top player, right?
03:16Maybe the top guy at the deadline here.
03:18We've talked about it for a couple of years now.
03:19But his play is cratered.
03:22He is playing better of late,
03:24for whatever it's worth.
03:25Better.
03:25That's not saying much.
03:26You see the numbers there.
03:27It doesn't take much to play better than that.
03:29I think he's a definition of a change of scenery guy,
03:31that he will be a better player on another team.
03:33Maybe not to the level we thought he might be at some point.
03:37But the Y-Tex is going to have to eat it
03:38because this is once a top player
03:39that they're not going to get much for.
03:41Right?
03:41And they already ate it on Eloy Jimenez.
03:43Remember, we thought he was going to be a big thing.
03:44That didn't work out.
03:46Oh, that's right.
03:46You know, Robert, I mean, it's going to be tough for them
03:49because they're going to have to eat some salary maybe.
03:51They're not going to get back to the prospect level
03:52they thought they were going to get.
03:54So we'll see where he ends up.
03:56You know, when I put together teams,
03:59I don't know what fits here.
04:00You know, Dodgers have kicked the tires on him
04:02for a couple of years,
04:03but they really need more bullpen help,
04:05more starting help than they do another outfielder.
04:08So I don't see a perfect team
04:10that's going to want to give up much of anything,
04:13you know, of value for Louis Roberts.
04:15So we'll see.
