00:00Yeah, I wouldn't say they passed the test with flying colors by any means,

00:03but they're 4-5.

00:04They swept Tampa before that.

00:05I don't get why everybody excludes Tampa from that discussion.

00:08So 13 games against when the gauntlet started, all against playoff teams.

00:14They wound up winning, what, 8 out of those 13.

00:18So they did more than enough over this stretch,

00:21and I think it's important they at least won a series against those NL teams.

00:25Oh, definitely.

00:25I feel like if they went 6-3, that would have been great.

00:31Yeah, for sure.

00:33You would have been feeling great about that.

00:36But, yeah, the way things were going, and you had lost 2 out of 3,

00:40you avoid a sweep, and then you avoid a sweep, and then you lose the first one.

00:43You're like, oh, my God, is it going to be the same thing?

00:44Will they lose 2 out of 3 again?

00:46Or the way it was even going on Saturday, are they going to lose this one too?

00:50But back-to-back big wins, and then this way,

00:52you only have three games until the trade deadline.

00:55So they did enough where you didn't waste the 10-game winning streak.

01:00You didn't waste where you were in the standings

01:02and all sort of the good vibes that we were talking about.

01:05You didn't waste that.

01:06You ended with, I would say, a positive overall.

01:10And now, you go into this series, you're in it.

01:14There's no excuses for Craig Breslow.

01:17I think you've done enough where you absolutely should be buyers.

01:20And if you're not, and there's an open revolt like there's been in years past,

01:24I think it's warranted.

01:26I think that they put themselves in a spot where, yeah, you need to be buying on Thursday's deadline.

01:31Yeah, and I would say, if you recall how they started the second half last year,

01:35that was a full-blown disaster.

01:37Yeah.

01:38They avoided disaster this year.

01:40Like, they didn't get swept by the Cubs.

01:42They didn't get swept by the Phillies.

01:43Last year they came out.

01:44They got swept right away by the Dodgers.

01:46They lost two out of three to the Rockies.

01:48They lost two out of three to the Yankees after that, before they finally won a series.

01:52It's like, they couldn't have started the second half in worse fashion,

01:56dropping five out of the first six, including a sweep to start it up.

01:59We've been asking, what's different this year about the Red Sox compared to last year

02:02and the year before that?

02:04I think it's the talent level.

02:06I do think they'll be more aggressive.

02:08I think they proved that in the offseason.

02:09I still have faith they're going to make a big move by the deadline.

02:13It sounds like Duran is off-limits, which I'm encouraged by.

02:17Just because I think that points in the direction of them buying.
