New Poll Has Brutal News For Trump On Jeffrey Epstein

On "Forbes Newsroom," Emerson Pollster Matt Talgia discussed a new poll showing opinions on the Trump Admin's handling of the Epstein files.

00:00I do now want to make a complete left turn here and talk about someone who's been dominating the

00:04headlines over the past couple of weeks and that's Jeffrey Epstein. His relationship with

00:08President Donald Trump is under renewed scrutiny and a memo released by the DOJ in early July

00:14which said there is no client list. Epstein did die by suicide and the DOJ won't release

00:19additional documents pertaining to the Epstein files was really met with harsh criticism. How do

00:25people think that the White House and the Trump administration at large has handled the Jeffrey

00:30Epstein story and case? Yeah, Brittany, and this is where some of that bad news on the policy side

00:38only gets worse. So when we ask folks whether they approve or disapprove of how the administration

00:45has handled the Jeffrey Epstein case, 51 percent, a majority disapprove, only 16 percent approve.

00:53If we look a little bit further down in those numbers, only 32 percent of Republicans explicitly

00:59approve of how Donald Trump has handled the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and the files. 56 percent

01:06of independents disapprove, obviously an overwhelming majority of Democrats also disapprove, but there are

01:13very few gaps here. I think that that's really, that's the point I want to drive home. Nearly everyone

01:20disapproves of how the administration has handled this. Again, this is really, really bad news. I think

01:26for the administration especially, even if Donald Trump himself is still above water, you know, some of

01:34these other folks in the administration could really catch some heat over this in the months to come.
