00:01Previously on Project Runway...
00:03Designers, you will be creating a textile design
00:05that will be placed on fabric,
00:07and that fabric will become part of your garment design.
00:10I'm about to send in some special guests.
00:12Oh, my God! Oh, my freaking hell!
00:15Oh, my God, Mom!
00:17Oh, my God!
00:20It's looking like an ice skating outfit.
00:23Seeing my mom took me way off my game.
00:25This looks literally like paper that you just went...
00:31There's a sharpness to it, and it has joy.
00:35I wish I knew what the story was.
00:37These pluses are positive signs.
00:41I've been HIV positive for ten years.
00:44Thank you for sharing that with us, Mondo.
00:47I feel a lot better. I feel free.
00:50Mondo, congratulations.
00:53You're the winner of this challenge.
00:57I'm sorry, Valerie.
00:59That means you're out.

01:23will receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine
01:25and $25,000 from L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Professional.
01:28A secret professional.
01:30Yeah.
01:32How's my hair?
01:35You look psychotic.
01:36Yeah?
01:37You look kind of like Edward Scissorhands.
01:39Yeah, I've won three in a row now, and I'm excited.
01:41Can you hear that?
01:42Exactly.
01:43That's up.
01:44That's up.
01:45That's up.
01:46Oh, it's just for weeks I got woken up by two girls giggling.
01:48Valerie can talk too much.
01:49It was always about what was going on in her head.
01:50I need to focus on me sometimes, too.
01:51Yeah.
01:52How do you feel about there being two girls left?
01:53It's just super real.
01:54Stakes are high.
01:55Yeah, exactly.
01:56Exactly.
01:57That's up.
01:58That's up.
01:59That's up.
02:00That's up.
02:01That's up.
02:02That's up.
02:03That's up.
02:04That's up.
02:05Oh, it's just for weeks I got woken up by two girls giggling.
02:06Valerie can talk too much.
02:07It was always about what was going on in her head.
02:10I need to focus on me sometimes, too.
02:13Yeah.
02:14How do you feel about there being two girls left?
02:16It's just super real.
02:17Stakes are high.
02:19I don't even like steak.
02:21That's deep, Wanda.
02:22The final six.
02:23So now I'm thinking, you know what?
02:25I have as good of a chance as the next person.
02:28But the games begin.
02:37Hello.
02:38Hi.
02:39Before we talk about your next challenge, we feel that you have gotten maybe a little
02:44bit too comfortable with your models.
02:47So with that in mind, for this challenge, all of you must change your model.
02:53Let's bring them out.
02:57Hopefully, my next model will be just as inspiring as Ian.
03:02My model, Cassie, has been like my other half here.
03:05This really sucks.
03:06Mondo.
03:07Mondo.
03:08You were the winner of the last challenge.
03:10So you get to choose your new model first.
03:12Tina Marie.
03:13I'd love to work with you.
03:18Christopher.
03:19I've always loved the way Alessandra walks and her height.
03:22So I would love to work with you.
03:25Andy.
03:26Lenka.
03:27I would love to work with you.
03:29April.
03:30Rose.
03:32Michael.
03:33Cassie.
03:34You better bring me that fierceness like you do for Andy.
03:38Gretchen.
03:39Milana and Ian are left on the runway.
03:42You decide which one of them will be in and which one will be out.
03:47I think I'm going to go with Milana.
03:53Ian, I'm sorry.
03:54That means you're out.
03:55Auf Wiedersehen.
03:57Bye.
03:58I'm sorry.
03:59For your next challenge, I will be your client.
04:04I want you to design a head to toe look for my line for New Balance.
04:09For this challenge, I'm feeling pretty good.
04:12Fashion active wear.
04:14Here we come.
04:15I'm excited.
04:16I'm really excited on this one.
04:18In order for you to know what the design aesthetic is,
04:20I have bought six of my looks so that you can get a better idea.
04:24Looking at the collection, I'm a little worried because there's no prints.
04:29There's no color, really.
04:31So this could be a hard one.
04:33I'm providing you with some fabric.
04:35And you can also shop for some other fabric at Mood.
04:40The winning design will be produced and sold as part of my line exclusively on Amazon.com.
04:46Cool.
04:47Great.
04:48Good luck and I'll see you soon.
04:50Bye.
04:51Bye.
04:52Heidi wants something that's a runway wow.
04:54I have never designed athletic wear.
04:56I'm nervous.
04:57It's a tube.
05:06Ooh, back wing dress.
05:09I don't really have a plan.
05:10I am just going to pull something out of my ass.
05:17Alright designers, your sketching time is up.
05:20So are you all ready to head off to Mood?
05:22Sure.
05:23Sure.
05:24Let's go.
05:26Alright designers, you have $100 and you have 30 minutes to shop.
05:30So use your time well and go.
05:35All of us found each other in the same aisle.
05:37Hey everybody.
05:38It's like you're picking out fabrics and you want to pull things before someone else grabs it.
05:42Excuse me.
05:43I'm not too concerned about it being the exact same material that she has in the collection.
05:48I'm just going for a colorway that speaks to me.
05:51Excuse me.
05:52All in time is up.
05:53Let's head back to Parsons.
05:55Let's go, go, go.
05:56Thank you Mood.
06:05My activewear pieces are a little different.
06:07I'm doing a jacket that's sportier and a pair of pants that is interesting as opposed to just being a legging.
06:14You know, I think a lot of the other designers are really paying attention to Putty's line.
06:20And so there's a lot of like oversized things.
06:23I didn't want to do that so I did something a little bit more cropped and different silhouette than a box.
06:29This one should be pretty easy.
06:32Look who I have.
06:42This is quite an honor, Heidi.
06:44We're thrilled to have you here.
06:45I love being here.
06:46So listen to everything Heidi has to say and synthesize it.
06:51All right, everyone?
06:53How's it going here?
06:54Uh, pretty good.
06:55How do you get into this?
06:57Just slip it on.
06:58What size is this?
07:00Size six.
07:01That's a size six?
07:02Yes.
07:03It's a cropped.
07:05Sorry.
07:06Mondo's incorporating pink and purple into his design, but without his use of print, his stuff is very dulled down.
07:15If you took the prints away, it could look like Ivy did it.
07:18Do you see me going shopping in this?
07:20Yeah, why not?
07:22Dropping my kids off and running errands?
07:25Sure.
07:26Why not?
07:27I would.
07:28Okay, she takes this off and then this tunic dress that is see-through.
07:31What is she wearing under this?
07:33Again, I said-
07:34She wears a bra and you see it?
07:37And do you get into this hole?
07:39Yeah.
07:40You do?
07:41Yes.
07:42I haven't done a fitting yet.
07:44Would you like to try that on as well?
07:47Why not?
07:48I'm here.
07:50Are you rolling eyeballs, Mondo?
07:51Nope.
07:57There's no way I can get-
07:58It's not gonna happen.
07:59Look.
08:00Yep.
08:01I can see that.
08:02There's no way.
08:03All right.
08:04Maybe a little Yorkie will fit through that hole.
08:08Maybe I'll dress my dog in it when I get home.
08:10There's no reason for you to be rude.
08:12I'm not being rude.
08:13Really?
08:14No, I'm being hurt right now.
08:15Why?
08:16I'm just telling you what my worries are.
08:17Well, that's why it's great to have this feedback now.
08:20So I can start all over.
08:22Better now than 10 o'clock at night.
08:24Right.
08:25Thank you, Mondo.
08:27Hello.
08:28Hello.
08:29Hello.
08:30I think this looks already very nice.
08:32It's a very good start.
08:34Take the inspiration that you got from my pieces and take it to the next level.
08:38Okay.
08:39You know, just being here, dealing with these other personalities, dealing with the challenges,
08:45it's like so much.
08:46In these final weeks, it's just building up, building up.
08:49So that critique with Heidi just was the icing on the cake.
08:55Coming up on Project Runway, I have to make this in my fabric.
08:58I don't want you wasting time without the fabric.
09:00You wanna win?
09:01Get it out of here.
09:03Oh, God.
09:04Not again.
09:10I'm doing a jacket that's incorporating both chiffon and this double layer jersey.
09:18I thought maybe this could translate into the cashmere.
09:20But they will fall completely different, so why don't you just make it out of the fabric
09:24that is in the line, so it goes with the rest.
09:26As far as I was concerned, part of it was showing you what we could do with your fabrics,
09:32and part of it was showing you what we could bring to the table.
09:35You're totally supposed to do that.
09:37But if this is the winning piece, I have to make this in my fabric.
09:41See, I feel like this is gonna be a smart enough design that...
09:45But my point is, why would you not make it in the fabric then?
09:47I just feel like we're talking a lot about fabric, and I wanna talk about...
09:50But it's because Heidi...
09:51Let's put it this way.
09:52But it's actually real.
09:53There's a warehouse filled with this fabric.
09:55I don't want you wasting time without the fabric.
09:57You wanna win.
09:58I wanna win.
09:59So if that's...
10:00If this is a major concern, it's out.
10:02I will use that fabric.
10:04Get it out of here.
10:05Gretchen was coming on too strong.
10:07She can't take criticism.
10:09This is kind of something that I always love on my leggings.
10:12It's a little ruching on the butt.
10:14I'm not sure about the curly butt.
10:16Okay.
10:17Okay.
10:18Schön.
10:19Thank you, Gretchen.
10:20Cheers.
10:22Hi, Michael.
10:23Hi.
10:24What are you working on?
10:25I'm working on a poncho dress jacket with an oversized hood.
10:30I chose to just do like a really light gray trim around, kind of to bring in the same elements
10:35that you have in your line.
10:37He's very speedy.
10:38Michael is.
10:39He's very fast.
10:40And that's for someone who has no idea how to sew.
10:43It's amazing.
10:44Who was it again that said that you can't sew?
10:47Oh, I forgot she's not here anymore.
10:49The whole team.
10:50Thank you, Michael.
10:52All right, everyone.
10:55I hope you all agree this has been an invaluable visit from Heidi.
10:59Fabulous you.
11:00It's been fun.
11:01But.
11:03The big but.
11:06I would like to see from each of you two additional looks.
11:11I'm stoked.
11:14So all together, three looks.
11:15Three looks.
11:16But you don't have to do all of that by yourself.
11:18I'm going to send all of you some help.
11:20I just wish she didn't say we would have help because I think I would feel a little bit better
11:25to do this whole entire challenge on my own.
11:27I really would.
11:28All right, everyone.
11:29You will have 20 minutes to sketch.
11:31Then we're going shopping at Mood where you will have a $200 budget.
11:34You can also buy fabric for the look you're working on because Heidi's critique may have
11:39caused you to recalibrate your thinking about it.
11:42And you will have until midnight tonight.
11:44And you'll have all day tomorrow.
11:45And as Heidi said, you'll have help.
11:47And all I want to say.
11:49Make it work.
11:50Make it work.
11:51Make it work, everybody.
11:53Make it work.
11:54Fun.
11:55This is crazy.
12:00I'm sketching a fashion legging because she doesn't have many options for bottoms.
12:06I don't know.
12:15Designers, this is a time to rally.
12:19And believe me, the power of positive thinking will help you do that.
12:23All right, let's head off to Mood.
12:25All right, designers, go at it.
12:33Is this crazy?
12:35Do you think she's going to hate it?
12:37I think you're pushing the boundary too far.
12:40Can I get some of this, please?
12:42I am going crazy.
12:43I found a color story that I fell in love with.
12:46It's starting to turn into the Michael Costello collection and not the Heidi Klum collection.
12:51All right, everyone.
12:52That is it.
12:53Time is up.
12:54Thanks.
12:55I hate this.
12:56I hate this.
12:57I hate everything about it.
12:59Hello, everyone.
13:00May I ask you to gather round, please?
13:02Designers, as Heidi said, you will receive help for this challenge.
13:06At this point in time, I will take anybody.
13:07And I'm sending in your help.
13:11This turn.
13:12This turn.
13:13This turn.
13:14The doors open.
13:15Here they come.
13:16The past.
13:17The people who all hate me.
13:18Coming up on Project One Way.
13:19I know that the chaos is right around the corner.
13:20It's going in the corner.
13:21I'm in shock that I am.
13:22You will receive help for this challenge.
13:24At this point in time, I will take anybody.
13:27And I'm sending in your help.
13:29This door.
13:35The door's open.
13:37Here they come.
13:38The past.
13:39The people who all hate me.
13:43Coming up on Project Runway.
13:45I know that the chaos is right around the corner.
13:49I'm still in shock that I'm still here.
13:51Why, because you cheated?
13:59Tired, worn out, final six.
14:02There are six fresh faces for you.
14:05I'd rather be gone than work with all the people
14:07that's in the room right now.
14:08Bring the moms back, just not them.
14:11So Mondo, you are the winner of the last challenge.
14:13You get to choose first.
14:16I am definitely going to choose Valerie.
14:18Thanks, Mondo.
14:20And the rest of you will choose according to the order
14:23in which I pick you from our velvet bag.
14:26It is Gretchen.
14:28Because we worked so well together last time,
14:31I'm going to stick with Casanova.
14:34Casanova.
14:37Next is Christopher.
14:39I choose Ivy.
14:41Ivy's such a fast sewer.
14:42She can pattern make.
14:44So that feels safe.
14:45And that's exactly why I chose her.
14:46Michael.
14:47I'm going to go with AJ.
14:51April.
14:52April.
14:53I'm going to take the hat.
14:54Bland.
14:55Oh, reunited.
14:56It feels so good.
14:57So Andy, it's you and Michael Drummond.
14:59Hi.
15:00I know that Michael Drummond isn't incompetent,
15:03but I'm going to have to simplify a few things
15:05because I don't want to have to end up with all the work.
15:07All right, designers, you have until midnight tonight,
15:10and you have all day tomorrow.
15:11Work, work, work.
15:12Having Valerie has pushed me to really do something
15:16because I don't want to look like a dumbass in front of her.
15:18Well, what if instead of bringing it here,
15:20what if you brought it down here?
15:22Oh, to the back?
15:23Yeah, that's cool.
15:28So Michael, how does it feel being almost to the end
15:31of the competition?
15:32Oh, I haven't felt it yet.
15:35It's just, it's just, I'm still in shock that I'm still here.
15:39Why? Because you cheated?
15:44Coming up on Project Runway.
15:46I got here for a reason.
15:47Drama out the wazoo.
15:49It's so pathetic.
15:51The world will give him what he deserves.
15:53Designers, I hear that there is an accusation about cheating.
16:02I'm still in shock that I'm still here.
16:04Why? Because you cheated?
16:06No.
16:08That's funny because we actually saw the dress you cheated on.
16:11Really? What was it?
16:13The blue one from the Jackie Kennedy Challenge.
16:15Why don't you ask Lenka about her boobs then?
16:17Ivy's accusing me that for the Jackie Kennedy Challenge
16:20that I tape the whole entire dress
16:23so that Lenka wouldn't fall out of it.
16:26It has support here and it goes across here.
16:29And you know what? Lenka, she wears sticky boobs
16:32and she uses top stick tape to hold her boobs up
16:36whenever she does a runway show too.
16:38How does it feel to be eliminated for a crappy design?
16:41Um, you know, it's a TV show.
16:44So you can say what you want.
16:48So why you put me for it?
16:50Whoa. Inappropriate language.
16:53Yes, you do actually.
16:54Okay, well then don't talk to me.
16:56Don't ask me questions.
16:57The vocabulary and the language that Michael Costello
17:00decided to use with me was completely low class.
17:03And it just shows what a despicable person he is.
17:06You've been nothing but a bitch to me for no reason.
17:09Because you cheat, Michael. I've done nothing to you.
17:10You cheat and you sabotage people.
17:12Really? Is it because I can't sew or something like that?
17:14Is that what it is?
17:15If that's what you believe and your children are watching this,
17:18it's very embarrassing as a father.
17:20Be bitter all you want, okay?
17:22But I got here for a reason.
17:24I think Michael C is holding a spot that could have been Valerie's,
17:28mine, and Michael Drummond's.
17:30How could you not be upset with that when they're taking your spot at your dream?
17:34Ivy, you have balls of steel.
17:37Pearls.
17:38No balls.
17:39You have bitterness in your heart, bitterness in your soul,
17:43because you're not here anymore.
17:45You're out.
17:46Deal with it.
17:47Michael C is here.
17:48Clearly, the judges, time and time again, have loved his work.
17:53It just seems totally counterproductive to be having this drama.
17:57Drama out the wazoo.
18:00I think Michael C deserves to be disqualified.
18:02The world will give him what he deserves.
18:04I definitely believe in karma.
18:07Ah!
18:08Oh, you're okay?
18:09Oh, my God.
18:10Can you pull your eyes?
18:11Yeah.
18:12Oh, my God.
18:13Ivy, are you okay?
18:14Oh, yeah, I'm fine.
18:15Holy .
18:17Oh, we said it's OMG.
18:19Hi.
18:20Hi.
18:21Designers, may I ask you to gather around, please?
18:25Ivy, I need you.
18:30Designers, I hear that there is an accusation about cheating.
18:36Is that true?
18:39Yes.
18:40I want to hear about it.
18:42The Jackie Kennedy challenge, the girls saw a bunch of topstick in the bathroom.
18:47This is hearsay?
18:48No, I saw it.
18:49We all saw it.
18:50We saw it.
18:52If I was trying to hide something with fashion tape, would I leave wrappers all over the
18:58woman's bathroom?
18:59I mean, I don't get it.
19:00I just don't get it.
19:01As far as I'm concerned, there is no malfeasance.
19:04This is merely a case of he said, she said.
19:07The tangibles are the following.
19:08The judges saw nothing on the runway.
19:10I saw nothing in the workroom.
19:12And our many cameras saw nothing.
19:14So this is a case of a non-case.
19:17End of story.
19:19Michael Costello, are you all right about that?
19:22I'm a little sad, but yeah.
19:24I'm more okay with it.
19:25Sad about what?
19:26Just that I recently...
19:27That it happened at all?
19:28Yeah.
19:29That's all.
19:30We're putting it behind us.
19:31All right?
19:32If I believed that this were a really serious issue, we would be dealing with it.
19:37It's behind us.
19:38All right.
19:39Move forward.
19:40Work, work, work.
19:42I'll see you tomorrow.
19:44Thank you, everyone.
19:46Thank you, Tim.
19:47I think everybody should be worried.
19:52The judges definitely have their likes and dislikes, and you throw in Heidi as a client,
19:58and that can either break you or make you victorious.
20:02So we're good.
20:03Hi.
20:04How are you?
20:05Good.
20:06I don't like the shorts.
20:08No shorts.
20:09Because it looks very viker.
20:11It's supposed to.
20:12A viker?
20:13Yes.
20:14Yes.
20:15No.
20:16Yes.
20:17It's a mom with money and five children.
20:20Who wants to still have sex.
20:24You know, after being in the bottom the last, you know, two times, I'm thinking this time
20:29I'm definitely going to be safe for sure, or definitely win this challenge.
20:34How are you feeling?
20:35Good.
20:36I like it a lot.
20:38Mm-hmm.
20:39I want this.
20:40These are the headbands.
20:41That's cool.
20:42This is a fun look.
20:43I mean, I hated it at the beginning, but now I love it.
20:47Hey, how are you?
20:48Cool.
20:49For her, it's going to be a lower bun.
20:51Your signature one?
20:52Yes.
20:53Let's get some product in the hair so they look like it's a little grittier, a little dirtier.
20:56I want them to really have a look that's like she had just been at the gym and she just
21:01threw her hair back.
21:02We have all these headbands for all the girls.
21:04We want to kind of pull it back and then do lots of texture and then just kind of sloppy,
21:08tied up.
21:09She's going to the gym, she's going to work out, but she's also about a man, you know?
21:12I don't know anything about that.
21:14Thank you, dear.
21:16All right.
21:19Final six designers.
21:22Thank your design assistants.
21:24Gather your models and follow me, please.
21:28Thank you, design assistants.
21:31Bye, guys.
21:32Andy.
21:33Bye, ladies.
21:34Good luck.
21:35Andy, are you the last?
21:37I think so.
21:38Thank you, everyone.
21:40Coming up on Project Runway.
21:44This looks like a pajama party.
21:46It's just horrific.
21:48Ugh.
21:49It hurt my eyes a little bit.
21:51I don't see a garment here that anyone would pay more than $10 for.
22:06Hello.
22:07Hi.
22:08Welcome to the runway.
22:10As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
22:14There are six of you here, and after tonight, there will be five.
22:18For this challenge, I asked you to design a head-to-toe look as part of my line for New Balance.
22:25The winning look will be produced and sold exclusively on Amazon.com.
22:29And I wanted lots and lots and lots and lots of options.
22:33So I decided to have you make two more looks.
22:36You had two days and $300 to put your designs together.
22:40And I'm very excited to see what you've done.
22:42Okay, let's meet the judges.
22:44First, we have CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Michael Kors.
22:48Hey, guys.
22:49Fashion director for Marie Claire magazine, Nina Garcia.
22:51Hi, everyone.
22:52And guest judge, iconic American sportswear designer, Norma Kamali.
22:57Hi.
22:58Hi.
22:59Hi.
23:00We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
23:02One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
23:06Let's start the show.
23:19I feel like I'm mostly happy looking at the runway today and my looks.
23:29I could have maybe styled a little bit differently, so it was more Heidi.
23:35It's the first time that I'm looking at all my looks together and they look strong.
23:54They look like me.
23:56They look appropriate for the challenge and appropriate for the line.
24:00I feel like I would wear that when you make me one.
24:11Watching my looks come down the runway, I'm really happy.
24:13happy it looks like a collection it looks like me it looks like active wear
24:33I think I did a great job I love it
24:43like the armband
24:54so as I'm seeing these girls walk down the runway
25:11I do know it's not the best Christopher Collins it's like me being thrown a
25:16challenge I wasn't prepared for and having to try to do the best I can in
25:20something that I'm not used to
25:26I just feel like I'm sitting there going like oh my gosh oh my gosh more than I
25:30am owning it
25:53I'm loving my looks I am just a little afraid about the color of the pants might
26:00read pumpkin spice or like Thanksgiving dinner with my color story but you know
26:06they're done well so I think I got this seriously I really do
26:13I don't know
26:20I don't know
26:24I know that I hated this whole idea, but it turned out really well, and I really rose
26:51up and gave them exactly what I wanted to show, but still staying very true to who Heidi
26:58is and what she has designed, so I'm feeling good.
27:12The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
27:15One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
27:28Michael, Christopher, Gretchen, the three of you have the lower scores, and one of you
27:34will be out.
27:36We're going to talk to the designers with the higher scores first.
27:39You can use the runway.
27:43Mondo.
27:44Hello.
27:45Where are my favorite pieces?
27:51Where did it go?
27:54I scrapped it.
27:55I got rid of that idea, and I restarted with new energy.
28:00So my inspiration was playing with the idea of a triangle, a circle, and a square.
28:06And the headbands are just purely for the runway.
28:09Well, first off, I actually like the kooky headbands.
28:11I do, too.
28:12I think they're great.
28:14I think they have personality.
28:16I think for you to deal with this muted palette, it isn't intrinsically you, but they have some
28:22whimsy, which is intrinsically you.
28:25So you've stepped outside your zone, but made it work.
28:27Is that satin on her jacket?
28:29Yes.
28:30I love the fact that you've made that combination with something athletic, with something soft,
28:35and something luxurious like satin.
28:38I really love this.
28:39Cool.
28:41I think you did a fantastic job.
28:42The pieces look great.
28:44You would want to have them.
28:45You would want to wear them.
28:46And I think that is what the goal is.
28:48Great job.
28:50April, tell us about your looks.
28:52I decided to do something that was high fashion, but still comfortable.
28:56I think it's a lot of looking style lines from your collection and incorporating them.
28:59Actually, I really like it, and I'd wear all of these, so I'm happy with it.
29:03I love the asymmetry on the first dress.
29:06I think it's very cool.
29:07I love her armband.
29:09Kind of love what that's doing on her.
29:11I like the looks, too.
29:12I think it could be something that you could wear after the gym and you just throw this over.
29:17My least favorite is the little short.
29:19I would be too afraid to wear little shorts like that, you know?
29:21I don't know how many women out there would feel comfortable wearing something that is
29:26so small out on the street, but otherwise, I like what you did.
29:31Andy, tell us about your looks.
29:34You know, with my personal style, I like to be really comfortable.
29:37And this idea of comfortable clothing that women would want to live in to run errands like
29:41they do in the real world.
29:43And it could be dressed up or dressed down and still be very chic.
29:47And that's what I've done.
29:50I like your looks a lot.
29:51I think that they would absolutely work within the line.
29:55I think that the dress is super cute.
29:57That ended up being my favorite.
29:58I think you did a lot in two days, and it looks great.
30:01I think the dress is really sweet.
30:03Even though it's very bold and graphic, it kind of has a classic look to it,
30:08which is a good sign in fashion that it has a life beyond this moment.
30:14But everything is beautiful, and you all did a great job, too.
30:18I was impressed with that.
30:20Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
30:22Now we're going to talk to the designers with the lowest scores.
30:25You can leave the runway.
30:35Michael, tell us about your looks.
30:37You have a lot of volume in your line,
30:39so I thought maybe something a little more fitted in your line might work,
30:43but still keep the looseness.
30:45You have introduced a lot of new colors to the line.
30:49So it makes it harder to really think about,
30:52okay, this has to be changed.
30:53This would have to be changed in that.
30:55Some of the pieces don't look too athletic to me.
30:58Not that anyone has to work out in these clothes,
31:01but just because things are oversized doesn't necessarily make them easy and relaxed looking.
31:09The styling of it set you back a little bit, but there are some really good pieces there.
31:15Even the cropped cargo is cute.
31:19The color, if it would have been in a gray, could have been pulled together.
31:23You know, so much of it is how you put it together.
31:25I can see what you guys are saying.
31:27I get it.
31:29Christopher, tell us about your looks.
31:31This was the first time I've ever designed activewear.
31:33I think for me it was about kind of the details and the construction
31:37and something that was supposed to be kind of easy and effortless to wear
31:40and looks, feels comfortable.
31:42Unfortunately, these clothes look so cheap.
31:45I don't see a garment here that anyone would pay more than $10 for.
31:50The butterfly top does not go with the other pieces
31:53and there is this red thing kind of poking out.
31:56I think making things with love is very evident
32:00and you weren't in love here for sure.
32:04Gretchen, tell us about your looks.
32:06What I found really important about looking at your collection
32:08was that it didn't have like those transitional pieces
32:11that maybe are a little bit more sophisticated than a hoodie
32:15and you don't have to be in sweatpants to be active.
32:18You can be sexy and comfortable and not feel overdressed.
32:22I have the same problem with your line that I had with Michael's line.
32:26There are pieces I can't see anyone running around on the street
32:29and then being casual.
32:31There's a lot of things going on.
32:33That ruffled miniskirt on top of those black tight leggings, peek-a-boo things.
32:39She looks like a sausage squeezed in.
32:42I don't know, they hurt my eyes a little bit.
32:44It looks very forced.
32:46That asymmetrical cut on your biker short looks really strange.
32:50I mean, it just looks odd.
32:52And that they're accidentally riding up.
32:54Crooked and riding, like in a weird way,
32:58what kind of weird transparent Spanx are showing?
33:01Okay.
33:02Your styling is not helping you.
33:05The shoes, the turbans, the necklace, the styling just
33:10kills any kind of easiness that you would have had here.
33:14Okay.
33:16Okay.
33:17We've heard what he had to say.
33:18We're going to have a little chat.
33:19Now you can leave the runway.
33:29Okay.
33:30Let's talk about the designers that we did like.
33:31Let's talk about April.
33:33I think when April's looks walked down the runway.
33:36You know, first off, her styling was really very strong.
33:39Very powerful.
33:40I think there was a lot of design in the clothes.
33:43They all had an ease and kind of these oversized things.
33:47I think the quality of what she did was really good.
33:50It still had this edge, but in these easy shapes.
33:54It was kind of a merger of the two.
34:00Let's talk about Andy.
34:02I think he did a great job.
34:04I actually think they were very interesting.
34:06Mm-hmm.
34:07I think the dress was really...
34:08Beautiful.
34:09...great looking.
34:10Beautiful.
34:11And the transparency made everything seem light and luxurious.
34:19Okay, let's talk about Mondo.
34:21And I have to say I was so relieved and happy when I saw his line
34:25because we had a little bit of a thing in the workroom.
34:29He was giving me some big-time Mondo attitude because I wasn't so happy with what he was doing.
34:36He was like, fine then, then I'm going to start all over again.
34:39But he channeled it, Heidi.
34:41He channeled it.
34:42He really came back with some interesting pieces.
34:45They look expensive.
34:46Yeah.
34:47Listen, the guy knows how to finish clothes.
34:54Okay, let's talk about the designers that didn't get the higher scores.
34:58Let's talk about Christopher.
35:00The pajama party.
35:02At the retirement village.
35:03I mean...
35:04He made sleepwear.
35:06This not only was really boring and blah, but just the finishing and the fabrics.
35:11They all look a little sloppy and it looks washed out.
35:17Let's talk about Michael.
35:18He was a little off with some of the proportions.
35:20You know, the big poncho jacket is a little bit too big everywhere.
35:25You can't have these gigantic wings, almost like a dress.
35:28His taste level is really what's scary to me.
35:31I hated those pumpkin-colored pants.
35:37All right, let's talk about Gretchen.
35:39They all come out of an 80s dance video.
35:41I just think that the execution and how she put it together is a disaster.
35:47I thought she tried too hard on the layering.
35:50There is just so many different things on top of each other.
35:54It looks absolutely insane.
35:56She said here, this is what I think your collection is missing.
36:00I'm gonna fix it for you.
36:01I'm gonna fix it for you.
36:02She cannot take any criticism.
36:04Like, she stands up there and she has her arms crossed and she's all like...
36:11Okay, so we've made our decision.
36:18All right, let's bring them back out.
36:21One of you will be named the winner.
36:36And one of you will be out.
36:40April, you're in.
36:43You can leave the runway.
36:44Thank you guys.
36:46Andy, your looks were terrific.
36:47One of you will be named the winner.
36:52And one of you will be out.
36:57April, you're in.
37:00You can leave the runway.
37:01Thank you, guys.
37:07Andy, your looks were terrific.
37:09Chic, easy, and relaxed.
37:12Without losing sophistication, they could all fit into my collection.
37:15But we can also still see a fashionable point of view as a designer.
37:20Mondo, you really listened to the critique and ended up doing a great job.
37:26Your mini collection was polished, simple, and well-designed.
37:30You did basic in a great way.
37:34Andy, congratulations.
37:39You are the winner of this challenge.
37:42Thank you very much.
37:43I also have a special surprise for you.
37:46All three of your looks will be produced and sold as part of my line for New Balance exclusively on Amazon.com.
37:54Wow.
37:56Really?
37:57Really.
37:58All three?
37:58All three.
37:59Oh, my gosh.
38:00I was only planning on one, but they were all great.
38:05Thank you very much.
38:06You can leave the runway.
38:06Did you win?
38:12Yes, ma'am.
38:13Good.
38:15The real payoff in this challenge is having my work produced and seeing my work purchased by people I don't know.
38:24You're going to see people wearing your stuff.
38:26I know.
38:26That's insane.
38:27It's pretty cool.
38:31Mondo, you're in.
38:34You can leave the runway.
38:43Gretchen, you're in.
38:47And let me give you some advice.
38:49Constructive criticism is not your enemy.
38:53You can leave the runway.
38:55Thank you all.
38:55Michael, Christopher, one of you will be out.
39:11Michael, your editing, styling, and taste level were extremely questionable today.
39:18I cannot see any of your total looks in my collection.
39:22Christopher, your clothes looked inexpensive and bland.
39:26Your problem started with your fabric choices.
39:29And it only seemed to get worse.
39:37Christopher.
39:38Christopher, I'm sorry.
39:42You're out.
39:46That means, Michael, you're in.
39:48You can leave the runway.
39:53Okay.
39:53Good luck to you.
40:10Hi.
40:11Christopher.
40:12Christopher.
40:14It is bittersweet to get this far.
40:15And then become eliminated because it was just one more challenge.
40:18And then it was Lincoln Center.
40:20I would have loved to show him that runway.
40:23That's the part that's a little like, oh.
40:26So close.
40:29We're going to profoundly miss you.
40:31I'll miss you guys, too.
40:33And I can't imagine that workroom without you.
40:35And now I have to send you there to clean up your space.
40:37All right.
40:38Okay.
40:38All very, very best.
40:40We'll hear more from you.
40:42We love you.
40:43Bye.
40:44Bye.
40:44Bye.
40:44I'm going to go away so happy and thrilled knowing that I did set out to do what I wanted
40:53to and achieved even more than I thought I could.
40:58It was amazing.
41:02Next time on Project Runway.
41:04Designers, Mayor Bloomberg.
41:06This is so cool.
41:07This challenge determines who among you will go on to New York Fashion Week.
41:11This final challenge can make or break me.
41:14Everyone is on the edge of emotional breakdown.
41:20I don't know if I have the wow factor today.
41:23Gretchen is one of the more exhausted designers at this point.
41:27I just want to leave.
41:29I was not impressed with your look.
41:31This is a missed opportunity.
41:33I think you really lost your steam.
41:35big.
41:41I wanted to get you guys on the top.
41:43I'm going to leave.
41:44Let's go.
41:45See you next time.
41:46I'm gonna go.
41:47I want to get you.
41:48I want to be 12 miles.
41:49I miss you, guys.
41:50Don't let go.
41:50I want to be 25.
41:52Bye.
41:53And the next one.
