00:29The Philippine Coast Guard said evacuations were carried out in several provinces on

00:33Thursday.

00:35In Manila, tens of thousands were evacuated earlier this week after some neighborhoods were

00:40swamped in waist-deep floodwaters.

00:42The government ordered the suspension of schools across Luzon on Thursday as a precaution.

00:48Around 70 domestic and international flights have also been cancelled due to severe weather.

00:55The storm, which was weakening as it made its way north by northeast, is expected to be

00:59gone from the Philippines by Saturday morning.
