Tropical Storm Trami has killed at least 26 people and forced more than 160,000 to flee their homes in the Philippines, officials said on Thursday (Oct 24), as it made landfall on the northeastern coast. 00:15The landslide came after Tropical Storm Trami dumped heavy rain in Bicol on Tuesday, killing

00:20at least 26 people.

00:23Officials said most of the deaths from the storm over the past few days were due to drowning

00:28and landslides.

00:29More than 160,000 were forced to flee their homes after floodwaters reached as high as

00:35the roofs of bungalow houses.

00:37Trami, locally known as Severe Tropical Storm Christine, dumped heavy to torrential rain

00:42on the main island of Luzon.

00:45With maximum sustained winds of 95 km per hour, the storm was moving westward across

00:50the mountainous northern region of Cordillera, towards the South China Sea.
