00:00Roof of a Rajasthan primary school that has come crashing down.
00:04Four children have been killed.
00:05It's terrible news they're getting in this morning of young children who are dying.
00:0917 injured as the government school building collapsed in Rajasthan's Jalavar district is what police have said.
00:16Horrific pictures coming in appearance, moaning their absolute chaos and confusion with four children dying.
00:23Several of them have been injured.
00:25Dev Ankur has more.
00:26Dev, this is horrific.
00:28Tell us what happened there.
00:29Many more children are trapped under the debris is what we know at this point in time.
00:34Well, terrible, terrible news, Sneha, coming in from Jalavar district of Rajasthan where the roof of a government primary school has collapsed.
00:46And because of that, several children are believed to be still trapped inside the school premises.
00:52The school is in a thin cloth area of Jalavar district of Rajasthan.
00:56And as per information, the information is that at least four children have been killed because of this roof collapse.
01:04Ten children have been referred to the Jalavar hospital.
01:08Seven children have been referred to Manuhar Thana hospital.
01:13The unfortunate part is that the death toll can rise in this case.
01:19This clearly seems to be a case of callousness, not just callousness, but criminal negligence, perhaps, and accountability is yet to be fixed in this case.
01:30But at this point in time, the teachers and the villagers are trying to extract children from under the debris.
01:39Unfortunately, the rescue work is going on right now and several of the injured children have been taken to the health centre nearby.
01:47So, a terrible news coming in from Jalavar district of Rajasthan on this Friday morning.
01:52Sneha?
01:53I want to ask you, Dev, because you mentioned callousness and I think this is not just callousness, this is criminal callousness.
01:59Were there red flags as far as this building is concerned?
02:02Well, may I clearly mention criminal negligence as well.
02:06So, clearly this seems to be a case of criminal negligence and not only callousness, but at this point in time, as I mentioned, the accountability is yet to be fixed.
02:17The roof collapse that happened, why was it not flagged earlier?
02:22Why were children allowed in the school premises building if the state of the school building was in such a dilapidated condition?
02:31And why was action not taken prior to the school children coming to the school for studying?
02:41Why was all of this not done?
02:42And given the fact that this is monsoon season right now, and perhaps...
02:46Alright, be with us, Dev.
02:47In fact, we're just dipping into our sister channel, Achitag.

04:50there being concerns raised just as early as yesterday
04:54that schools could be just coming crashing down given that concerns have
04:58been raised about the structures of these

05:54The roof of a school building has come crashing down.
05:57Imagine the situation where four children have died.
05:59Seventeen students have been injured and like Dave was telling us,
06:03there is a possibility of the fact that there could be more children
06:08stuck in that debris there and there could be more casualties.
06:11It's a horrific situation.
06:13Imagine the plight of the parents who'd send their children to the school
06:16which has now come crashing down.
06:18It's criminal negligence.
06:19Clearly on the part of the authorities or else,
06:22how would a structure of this kind come down?
06:24It's a school at the end of the day.
06:26School time with children in the premises of the building
06:30would presumably be starting the day.
06:32Essentially, it's in the morning.
06:34And that's when the building came crashing down.
