00:00First of all, then victory here at Burton. In the end, what did you take from that performance?
00:05Well, we say it's a pre-season. You always want to win, but some games are different than the others.
00:12We didn't start the game well at all, and the performance in the first 30-35 minutes was not according to where we are,
00:17and we all agree on that. And I think the best thing from the day was the reaction of the team,
00:23the way that we want to do things, and after those first 30-35 minutes,
00:27to see the team just making the things that we want to make, competing,
00:31and in the end, we equalised pretty quickly in the second half, and then at the end, that goal.
00:37It's just a little bit better to get those difficult days with a victory.
00:41What did that first 35 minutes perhaps teach you? Why do you think it happened?
00:47Well, I think the opposition was ready to come and press us from the very beginning.
00:51They didn't give us spaces. We were not ready to just start to find our combinations,
00:56or the spaces that we wanted, and we were not compacting our pressure or counter-pressure.
01:02Then they found the solutions really well, and we always want to stay behind the opposition.
01:08But I think, as I say, that it's going to happen at some point in the pre-season.
01:11It's not going to be everything perfect, and I think we sorted it out,
01:15and we started to get into the game. We started to get chances.
01:18We started to get situations, and then I think after those first 30-35,
01:22we were on top of the game.
01:23Jack Robinson left the field just before half-time. What happened there?
01:28Well, he has been feeling some discomfort in his feet, and he fell at the end.
01:34So it's just a precision game we will need to address tomorrow and see what's the next move.
01:40Nothing serious then, you think?
01:42No, I hope it's nothing serious. I think it's more an overload in the area than anything.
01:46Michael Cooper sat the game out again, second game running. What's going on there?
01:50Well, as we say for Michael Cooper, the last game was probably a decision from me,
01:56just to give us all the time for the other goalkeepers.
01:59Today he felt a bit discomfort in the knee, but he should be back in a couple of days.
02:04Because I'm sure you'll know at this time of the year when top players don't play games,
02:08everyone thinks it's for transfer reasons.
02:11Have you been given any kind of assurances that he's one of the ones that's definitely staying?
02:17Well, he's definitely staying. It's not about that.
02:19I understand the concerns because people are not there day by day, but no, it's nothing related with that.
02:26You have been active in the market and Barry now signed and over the line.
02:32Obviously a player you know from Hull.
02:34Why him? What does he bring to the group?
02:37Well, we need to continue building up that intensity and threat in the final third.
02:43And I think Louis has been proving that he can do that.
02:46Unfortunately, he got injured with us in Hull last season.
02:49And I think with those 10-15 games, he will prove his abilities.
02:54And that's why we think he can come to us and then be a key player in that winger position
03:00with his one-against-one situations, intensity in the pressure, finishing action, etc.
03:05If he does start to fly, I mean, he's got an excellent goal record as well.
03:10Yeah, yeah. He's a player that is capable to create situations
03:13and a player that is more than capable to compete in the level.
03:17So we expect big things from him.
03:19It must have been quite the disappointment to have brought him in
03:22and then so early in his whole career for him to get injured
03:25and you can't have a proper look at him at the championship level.
03:28Yeah, because when we brought him, he was one of the ones
03:30that was ready to give us the goals that we lacked in that moment.
03:34And to have him out of the team was a big loss for us.
03:40But yeah, everything is a process, as I say.
03:42We learned from it.
03:43We learned that Louis are very competent players in the level.
03:45And then hopefully he can stay healthy and can play a lot of games for us.
03:50When you spoke to us on Saturday, you were hopeful of two signings.
03:53So that's one.
03:54So is there a second one this week imminent?
03:57Well, hopefully it is.
03:59We are working on it as we have been active in the market
04:01and we know exactly the kind of player that we want.
04:04And hopefully in the next four or five days, even less,
04:09we can announce something.
04:11The name, Jibril Samare, has been widely reported.
04:15Is he a player that you are interested in?
04:18Well, we are looking for a player in that position as a six.
04:22And then Jibril has been there in the name.
04:24The name of Jibril has been there.
04:25We analyze him and I think he is a player that can suit our style, yes.
04:29Because I'm sure you're very keen to add to the midfield group, aren't you?
04:33You've given injuries and departures already.
04:35Yeah, absolutely.
04:37I think when Bini left us, we needed that kind of number six
04:41that can be a little bit more physical, athletic in that profile.
04:48And I think looking at the market, there were some good options.
04:51And hopefully we can close one of them really, really quick.
