00:00Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has asked supporters to be patient with Dominic Solanke as
00:08the £65m striker continues his recovery from a lengthy ankle injury. The England international
00:15has been sidelined since pre-season last, appearing in a Premier League match against
00:19Manchester City on August 23rd and underwent surgery in September. Frank revealed that while
00:25Solanke has shown good touches in training, he is still lacking sharpness in more competitive
00:31drills. You can see in training that he's nice and composed on the ball, good decisions, good touches
00:36and then when we're a little bit more competitive in these small-sided games, he is of course lacking
00:42sharpness and he looked a little rusty, which is completely normal, the Spurs head coach explained.
00:48The striker will not be involved in their clash with Bournemouth but Frank hopes the 28-year-old
00:56will gradually return to full match fitness this month. Their 1-1 home draw with Sunderland in which
01:02the visitors scored a late equaliser underscored the team's attacking frustrations and saw the home
01:07crowd express their dissatisfaction. Spurs is 13th in the table but remain within reach of a top five
01:14finish, just four points adrift of Chelsea. Frank's message was clear, the fans must temper expectations.
01:20Solanke's return is a boost but he will need time to regain full sharpness before leading Tottenham's attack
01:26once again.
