AFL games could be shortened under new rules

00:06length of the game, bounce the ball, yeah, probably those, they're the two, they'll be the two biggest.

00:15You've spoken a bit about your wish to shorten the quarters.

00:19What are, I guess, the sort of prime spots that you feel like we can do that?

00:23Yeah, I think, and I've only just started, obviously, I couldn't get in this morning, actually, I was here that early,

00:29but anyway, I was pretty excited, actually, Dills was here.

00:33No, I've got some meetings this afternoon with the umpires, actually, and they train tomorrow night,

00:37so I'll have a chat to them, but it's just around probably the setups and the waiting for, you know,

00:42Ruckman to get the contest and even the boundary throw-ins, waiting for them to get there,

00:46and I think there's a chance to actually speed that up a bit because there's good vision and video

00:53of Ruckman taking 20 seconds to come from one end of the ground to the other,

00:57and everyone stands around and waits, and so to me, that's something that hopefully we can have a look at

01:02and maybe address even before the season finishes.
