00:00We have been working on a story this morning that sadly we now have the answer because, and I say sadly because what we've learned is that Malcolm Jamal Warner, former Cosby show star, died over the weekend.
00:13And we have an unconfirmed but very reliable source telling us what happened here.
00:19What we know at this moment as we talk to you now is that we're told from the source Charles just mentioned that this was an accidental drowning of some sort.
00:32And so you know, I mean, that's one of the reasons there's been commotion this morning.
00:36And we've been working on it.
00:38We confirmed the death.
00:39I can tell you that some members of the Cosby show know and are very upset that Bill Cosby didn't know at the time we published but is being informed right now.
00:55He probably knows right now because it's been just a couple of minutes.
00:59And it's just a really, really tragic turn.
01:02And he had been, obviously, had been, even after the Cosby show, working very steadily.
01:09He actually has a podcast that he does now.
01:13And, in fact, the latest episode just dropped a few days ago.
01:17So we had been told by one source, and again, we are still working to confirm every detail here, but by one source that he was on vacation at the time.
01:27So this was not apparently something that happened at his home, but we are going to try to get more information.
01:34Obviously, we will update you throughout the show.
01:36Yeah, if we get more by the end of the show, we will tell you.
01:40Celeste from New York.
01:41I am absolutely devastated to someone.
01:45Malcolm Jamal Warner was my first crush.
01:47I mean, I have loved him, loved his career.
01:51He was the most beautiful person.
01:54I had the pleasure of meeting him.
01:55He has commented on my social media posts that I've made about him.
01:59I mean, I couldn't think of a most warm, loving soul than this.
02:04And it's so, I just still, I can't believe it.
02:07Like, I'm looking at the headline.
02:09I thought maybe, like, somebody else associated with him.
02:12And it is just so devastating.
02:15I can tell you that he, I mean, you could talk about Cosby being America's dad.
02:18He was, for a generation of us, America's first love.
02:23Okay.
02:24He was our first love.
02:26He was vulnerable.
02:27He was funny.
02:28He was loving.
02:30He was a sweetheart.
02:31I mean, we grew up with Theo and even Malcolm as he grew up and doing other stuff in his career.
02:38Where, this is such not the news that I, anyway, he, I just, I loved him.
02:47And it's such a, like, oh, God, I can't even go on about this.
02:53No, we feel you.
02:54No, we do.
02:55That is the reaction a lot of people are having right now.
