00:00We're also doing a sequel to Remy and Michelle starting next spring, so it's all kind of all this full circle stuff.
00:07It's all this full circle stuff.
00:07So, okay, so definitely, because I know Alan said that possibly shooting next year and then the movie coming out the year after.
00:14Yeah, it usually takes about a year.
00:16So, I mean, the plan is right now to shoot it late spring.
00:19So, yeah.
00:20And the script is great.
00:21Robin Schiff, the original writer, wrote the sequel.
00:23And Lisa and I have had a lot of input in it and we're executive producers on it, as well as starring in it again.
00:29It's not like us just visiting and other people being in it.
00:32No, we're Remy and Michelle again and we're seeing what they're up to nowadays.
00:35And the whole gang is back, you know, the original cast.
00:38So, it'll be great.
00:39That's going to be great.
00:40Oh, my God, that's so exciting.
00:41You said that this script kind of checks all the boxes.
00:43What are some of those boxes that were going to be checked?
00:46Well, you know, in the original, like, they have this hurdle where they re-examine their lives all of a sudden based on some external benchmark.
00:55And that starts happening to them in this, too.
00:57But it's sort of, oh, what would they be thinking about now at this point in their life?
01:01You know, they've got their store.
01:02They've got, you know, as we left them before, we kind of find them again, but just a little bit further advanced.
01:09Yeah, right.
01:10And they're still kind of the same people living in a slightly frozen-in-time way, you know, still best friends, doing everything together.
01:18You know, and then they're like, have we missed out on anything?
01:20And I can't really say what the, you know, the big hook is, but it's really great.
01:24It's really funny.
01:25It's really moving.
01:26I think part of Romeo and Michelle is that it has, like, a lot of emotion underneath it.
01:30And that's why people have always related to it.
01:32It's about being yourself and loving your best friends no matter what other people think of you.
01:39And just being your authentic self, even though they're idiots, you know, but somehow there is, as my father used to like to say, and this might be an archaic expression because people won't know what the first thing is, but he said, it's putting Weecheram in the Twinkies.
01:53The Weecheram used to be this health item that people used to talk a lot about.
01:57And so, you know, there's something inside of it that is actually a lot stronger and truer than the externals with all the crazy, fun fashion and the music and the, you know, just the dancing.
02:06Yeah, there's, there's something more enduring and that's why it's become such a cult favorite.
02:11Oh, 100%.
02:11I mean, 30 years later, people are still talking about this movie, yearning for a sequel.
02:16And to say that, like, you know, to have a sequel 30 years later is pretty, something really special.
02:21It really is.
02:22I mean, what, I mean, what's it going to be like, do you think, stepping on, like, that soundstage for the first day, stepping back into the issues?
02:28I think I'll just spend a few days just being Romy before I do that.
02:31Like, you know, kind of getting back into her walk and her talk and just her personality, which I always enjoyed doing.
02:37But, you know, I just, I like to create these very strong characters that have, like, a real existence, you know, and that's what I'm doing for Roxy and, you know, what I've done for a number of my other ones.
02:49So I probably want to have a little time just to kind of re-immerse myself as Romy because it's been a while.
02:55It's been a while.
02:55Yeah.
02:56Can we expect a big dance number again?
02:57Of course.
02:58Of course.
02:58Of course.
02:59Yeah.
