00:00This resolution that the House Rules Committee approved last was calling for the release of the Epstein files, this resolution, will you commit to giving it a vote before the August recess?
00:11So here's what I would say about the Epstein files.
00:13There is no daylight between the House Republicans, the House, and the President on maximum transparency.
00:19He has said that he wants all the credible files related to Epstein to be released.
00:23He's asked the Attorney General to request the grand jury files of the court.
00:28All of that is in process right now.
00:30My belief is we need the administration to have the space to do what it is doing.
00:34And if further congressional action is necessary or appropriate, then we'll look at that.
00:38But I don't think we're at that point right now because we agree with the President.
00:41So no vote on this resolution before August recess?
00:44We had this episode in New York of the CBP officer shot in the face here.
00:48Some people are concerned, though, about the Trump administration going too far with some of these deportations
00:55and not going after the people who are, you know, they truly ought to be deported.
00:59The focus has always been on dangerous, criminal, illegal aliens.
01:03And the person who shot this officer valiantly, even off duty, as I'm told, is an example of why we have this problem.
01:11The Biden administration opened the border wide for four years.
01:14We all talked about it incessantly.
01:16We begged the previous president to close it and he refused to do so.
01:19So by some estimates, at least 20 million people came into the country illegally.
01:24Many of them are dangerous.
01:25We're seeing that on display right now.
01:27Thank goodness we have a strong commander-in-chief who has sealed that border shut.
01:30He demonstrated that the power was always there to do so.
01:33And the Biden administration or whoever was in charge of the auto plan refused to do it.
01:38Look, we're going to be dealing with the fallout from that for quite some time.
01:40But we need ICE agents to do their job.
01:43We need a border patrol to do their job.
01:45We need DHS to do its job.
01:46And they are.
01:47And we'll support them 100% in that.
01:50What do you say the possibility of a fairing vote?
01:52Do you have to remember, Mr. McClendon, not sign out to the discharge petitions?
01:56Discharge petitions are never a good idea in the House.
01:59It is a tool of the minority party, not the majority.
02:03The majority party has stated its position, and it is mine, and it is the president's, that we want maximum disclosure.
02:10So the rest of it is a political game that Democrats are playing, and I hope Republicans don't join in there.
02:14This is something unspent.
02:17Some Democrats are saying that they're going to hammer Republicans for not producing epstein files in the interim.
02:22It's nonsensical.
02:23They have nothing else to talk about.
02:25I wish they would talk about policy, things that would help the American people.
02:29But instead, they're playing political games.
02:32We have said our position on that, and there's no daylight between us and the White House.
