Concerns over a Tenby seafront hotel’s loud music has sparked action from one of the seaside town’s county councillors.
The complaints seem to surround the special ‘Tenby Rocks DJ Days’ sets that have been introduced at the Imperial Hotel on Saturday afternoons, running from 12 noon to 6pm.
The sets with a focus on classic Ibiza dance tunes, seem to have proved popular amongst locals and visitors, with the outdoor terrace setting overlooking the beach, certainly proving to be a prime spot to enjoy the recent glorious weather.
However, the cherished hotel, built within the ancient town walls with breathtaking views of South Beach, and looking out to Caldey Island which has offered an unbeatable hotel location in the seaside town for over 120 years, don’t seem to have pleased everyone in the locality with its new daytime clubbing vibe.
“At the beginning of this week, following residents complaints, I raised the issue of noise pollution from The Imperial Hotel with officers from Pembrokeshire County Council,” county councillor for the south ward Cllr Sam Skyrme-Blackhall shared on social media on July 18.
“They have met with the Imperial Hotel and proposed installing a noise limiter, which they have agreed to do.
“There is an App called The Noise App (2.0) which PCC advise that residents download to help monitor the situation.
“I hope that this won't be needed and that the Hotel keep music to acceptable levels so everyone can enjoy our beautiful town,” continued Cllr Skyrme-Blackhall, who was recently on hand back in May to officially unveil the hotel’s new look, after a major renovation project to the Grade II listed building.
The premises located along The Paragon was acquired by Crest Hotels Group last year, a family-owned business based in Bristol that own and operate nine unique hotels across the UK.
