‘Govt attempting to tarnish history’: Salman Khurshid on NCERT textbook calling Babur 'ruthless'

Aligarh (UP), July 17, 2025 (ANI): On the reports of an NCERT textbook calling Babur 'ruthless', Akbar 'brutal', Aurangzeb 'temple destroyer', Congress leader Salman Khurshid said, “The kind of things being said about history in NCERT are a direct opposition to Indian civilisation. Our country has a mixed heritage, in which we present the truth, no matter how painful it may be. We do not distort the truth. This government is attempting to tarnish history. This is an injustice to future generations.”
