00:00The local government of Laurel in Batangas is studying the possibility to declare a state of calamity due to the effects in the economy and fishing industry of the missing cockfighters who were allegedly dumped in Taal Lake.
00:12The LGU has conducted a relief operation for almost 500 fishermen who live in six barangays around Taal Lake.
00:18According to the municipal administrator of Laurel, Batangas, the LGU allocated more budget for the effects of calamities like typhoon and volcanic eruptions.
00:27However, they did not expect that the missing cockfighters issue will affect their local economy, which is why the LGU needed an additional support to help the fishermen.
00:38As of now, the LGU provided a livelihood program for small-scale fishermen affected by the issue.
