00:26in the Indo-Pacific region of Marangkadra

00:28of the Parliamentary Intelligence Security Forum.

00:31The forum is hosted in the Philippines this year.

00:33Incumbent and former international lawmakers,

00:37diplomats, security experts, and technology experts

00:41from all over the world are gathered here.

00:43According to Romualdez,

00:45there is a need for a unified and joint approach

00:48between different countries

00:50to solve geopolitical tensions,

00:52economic vulnerabilities,

00:54and technological disruptions in our society today.

00:57This gathering is a big deal

00:59to build new mechanisms and strategies

01:02to address these challenges.

01:04The Indo-Pacific's challenges are immense,

01:07but so are its opportunities.

01:10Our region's diversity is its greatest strength,

01:13and through dialogue, cooperation,

01:16and decisive action,

01:18we can navigate these complex realities together.

01:23As parliamentarians,

01:25we have a unique role in shaping policies

01:27that promote security,

01:29prosperity,

01:31and resilience.

01:33Let us use this forum

01:35to share best practices,

01:37deepen partnerships,

01:39and advocate for forward-looking solutions

01:42grounded in shared values.

01:45Other lawmakers also attended the gathering

01:50to give the Philippines' position

01:52on various issues today,

01:54such as the conflict in the West Philippine Sea.

01:57The Philippines made a choice,

01:59a choice to trust in law,

02:01not in force,

02:03when China laid sweeping and baseless claims

02:06over the South China Sea,

02:08including the West Philippine Sea,

02:10disregarding international law,

02:12and trampling on the sovereign rights

02:14of smaller nations.

02:16The forum will last until Tuesday,

02:19and many other important issues

02:21will be discussed here.
