00:22The Department of Health or DOH is monitoring serious health issues
00:26related to non-communicable diseases or NCDs this holiday season,
00:30including stroke, heart conditions, and asthma.
00:33They warned about Holiday Heart Syndrome, which can result from excessive drinking,
00:37stress, lack of rest, and unhealthy eating,
00:40potentially leading to arrhythmia and stroke.
00:42The DOH noted an increase in stroke cases at major hospitals in Quezon City during this time.
00:51Meanwhile, as preparation for the upcoming 2025 national and local elections,
00:55the Commission on Elections is already conducting training for trainers,
00:59technical support, and electoral boards for local and overseas voters in the next election.
01:04A sample printing process for the ballots to be used in the training has also been demonstrated.
01:09Observers include the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting,
01:13the National Citizens Movement for Free Elections or NAMFRL,
01:17the Legal Network for Truthful Elections, and Participate PH.
01:21It is expected that ballot printing will start in January.

01:29DSWD's Walang Gutom Kitchen in Pasay City has served 4,452 individuals facing hunger.
01:36The food is donated by hotels, restaurants, and other businesses.
01:40Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao clarified that the food is fresh and healthy and not leftovers.
01:45She also thanked the volunteers who helped serve the meals.
01:48The kitchen will be open from December 26 to 31 but close on January 1, 2025.
01:54This initiative aims to reduce hunger and food waste by turning surplus food into meals for those in need.
