00:00The wreckage of the police helicopter that crashed into Sungai Pulai in Gelang Patah last week was successfully retrieved on Thursday.
00:09The recovery operation began around 8 a.m. and involved multiple enforcement and emergency response agencies.
00:17Clear weather conditions are believed to have aided the recovery efforts, despite the low tide.
00:21At approximately 11 a.m., the AS-355N helicopter, bearing the registration number 9MPHG, was lifted in stages using a crane vessel.
00:33The operation was closely escorted by Royal Malaysia Police Assets.
00:37The wreckage will be transported to a nearby jetty for forensic examination.
00:41Investigations will be led by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau from Putrajaya,
00:46in collaboration with the Johor Department of Internal and Public Security, to determine the cause of the crash.
00:53The helicopter went down at around 10.15 a.m. on July 10 during a joint exercise involving Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore,
01:02held at the Gelang Patah maritime jetty.
01:05Fortunately, all five crew members were safely rescued and are currently receiving treatment at Hospital Sultana Amina in Johor Bahru.
