00:00The problem is speeding. I've got Adam here. I used to work in traffic management, so I
00:06have my own speed gun. So Adam, who lives on the estate here, kindly offered to stand
00:15over there at the end of the farm, catching speeders coming this way. And then he stood
00:22here where we are stood now, catching people. They come round the corner, there's a pub
00:26at the bottom there called the Emmet Arms. As soon as they come round from that corner,
00:30they see this long road with the dip. The 60 mile an hour is hundreds and hundreds of
00:35yards up the road there. But they come round there and then they floor it. The fastest
00:39speed, Adam caught many, many people over 60. The fastest speed recorded in only a six day
00:47period was 105 miles an hour. Mostly in the morning and a lot in the evening, you get people
00:53just constantly speed. About half the cars going past are going over the speed limit.
00:58Several of them doing double the speed limit. And it's just, it's a constant issue. Even
01:04in the middle of the night, you'll hear people flying past. As similar to Alan said, the speed
01:11camera's right at the bottom of the hill where there's a corner. So everyone's going under
01:1530 when they pass it. As soon as they've gone past the speed camera, they floor it. It's
01:20good 100, 200 yards up the hill before you see 60 miles an hour. But they're doing 60
01:24half the distance before they reach that. It's just, everyone on the estate is getting
01:30really sick of it now. And it's just, there's nothing we can do about it. We've tried speaking
01:34to the council. We've tried speaking to the police. They pass us back and forth between
01:38each other. Nowhere with it. It's at a wits end really, aren't we? There's a speed camera
01:44down there. Now, who thought to put it there? I don't know. But they aren't going to win
01:50any prizes. It's right before a bend. You have to slow down anyway. To my mind, as you come
02:00from the 60 to the 30, that speed camera should have been somewhere like over here to ensure
02:05you're doing 30 miles an hour. And perhaps another one facing this way just before Ycola
02:13view. So that as you pass the estate that we have to live on, you're not doing 105 miles
02:19an hour. And I don't know if people just think it's 60 after they pass the speed camera because
02:23they can't see that sign from down the bottom of the hill. But I'd say coming up the hill,
02:27it's more than half. It's 60, 70% of speeding. And again, 10 to 20% of those are probably
02:34doing 50, 60. It's a lot.
