With calls to increase the motorway speed limit due to improved safety features in modern cars, we asked people in Birmingham whether they would support the change — or if they think current limits should stay the same.
00:00I think the motorway speed limit is a bit of a touchy subject at times because you get people that drive well below the speed limit and cause hazards but then you get the idiots that are weaving in and out of lanes going well above the speed limit but you know they can't wait so they're weaving about from first lane to third lane and so on. So I'm afraid the jury's out on that one.
00:18The one thing I'm finding quite difficult is some areas sort of you know so these are they've moved it down to 20 now I drive and I'm finding it really hard to watch my monitor and trying to keep my eye on the traffic at the same time. I just think that that's probably a little bit you know safe driving you know forever but 20 miles an hour restrictions are quite difficult.
00:42I think it should be 80 miles an hour I said reducing it when you go on the motorways at the moment it's 50 miles an hour it's ridiculous it's the flow of the traffic there's more than ever the amount of cars on the road and 80 miles an hour is not a risk to anybody if it keeps the flow.
