00:18we knew was going to be the number one overall pick by the time they were playing their junior

00:22year of high school football quite the opposite started at incarnate word at the fcs level

00:27transferred to washington state from wazoo spent his final season at miami and had a heisman caliber

00:34esque season for the canes but very quickly in the draft process became that clear-cut number one

00:41overall pick but because of that maybe did not deserve the hype or did not get the hype that he

00:46deserved entering draft night i think this guy is going to be successful in the nfl my question is

00:53brian callahan's offense i think if you asked even the most devote football fan or a couple of casual

00:59nfl fans who's the head coach of the titans they'd say mike vrabel and you'd have to correct them it is

01:05brian callahan entering year number two former offensive coordinator for joe burrow and the

01:11cincinnati bangles last year drs dealt a pretty harsh hand of will levis and mason rudolph to run

01:17his offensive scheme and i don't think anybody was more pissed about that than brian callahan

01:21who every time will levis did something stupid they would cut away to him on the sidelines he'd be

01:26like like f my life man get this guy off my football team he has a chance to prove it with

01:33camp ward at the helm but it's another interesting wrinkle for me five and a half to win total what

01:38does success look like based on relative expectation because the guy that hired brian callahan as the

01:44head coach is no longer the gm ran carth and not there it's mike borgonzi entering his first year

01:50leading that front office yeah and that's tough when you're not backed by you know let's just say

01:56uh ben johnson let's use that as a name like if you inherit ben johnson after a year where things

02:01didn't go like well the guy's got a pedigree like i know he's one of the best play callers and you

02:04hire a coach because the expectations are you think he could be your franchise head coach for the next

02:08decade otherwise nobody would get hired in the nfl but that's not your guy so you come in and you pick

02:13your quarterback and things don't work out well all right well i picked my quarterback but this coach

02:17isn't the right one for me and any sniff of hey cam what do you think about your coach he's okay all

02:22right he's out the door he's going let me bring in my guy you know we're going to sort of set this

02:26stage for over the next couple years we are going to excel that's what makes it tough and you're right

02:30about it like callahan came like okay well i knew snow was dad but i don't know much about him and it

02:35was bad but you're right about it it wasn't his fault last year like and again the funny cutaways and

02:40that's how devastating can be where it was simple like hey look i'm going to send you out there i just

02:44can't have you throw pick six boom pick six like what kind of throw is that what are we doing like

02:49we can win this football game if you just don't implode and happen so many times now who's going

02:54to reset this year and also the expectations for the titans for me as it is with just about

02:58every rookie quarterback that comes into the nfl i don't care what that record is i don't care if

03:04they don't win a single game if i see my quarterback out there making progressions making his reads

03:09excelling at his position for a rookie and i say okay let's get to your sophomore season what i can't

03:15see is redundancy a bad outfit out there which means the play calls don't seem to match up with

03:21the skill requirements of my quarterback then i have issues here and all it takes is for cam ward

03:27just to say one thing in the press or behind the scenes hey you know i'm really confused out here and

03:32it's a wrap and i'm not saying he can't be the head coach of the future but that spotlight as you

03:36pointed out is much brighter because he wasn't picked by the current general manager and that's

03:41always strike one ben it always is the rs and again you often especially when you have that number

03:47one overall pick want to be in lockstep the gm and the quarterback the same regime that the head coach

03:54certainly not by the way just so we know 3 300 and a half is that season-long passing yards prop
