A year later, their families decided FaceTime and letters weren’t enough and planned a surprise reunion. During a cross-country road trip, Kohlson’s family arranged a secret stop to see Oaklyn. Their moms picked Joplin, Missouri, as a midpoint and met at a trampoline park under the guise of a long errand.
