00:00My name is Anna Phillips and I'm one of the community fighters here against
00:04Plaz Refine. Outraged. This community, the contempt that Plaz Refine has treated
00:09this community with for the last four years is just beyond belief and with 15
00:15days to go into their six-month appeal, it is just, there are no words but really
00:21the main thing to say is this community is steadfast, we are resolute, we are
00:26defiant, we are stronger because of what Plaz Refine has done to us and we will win
00:33this, we will unite. Nothing has changed, the site is the same, the impacts are the
00:39same, so there is no change. So quite frankly it was just you know disbelief and
00:47horror that we now and my biggest thing that I am devastated for is to put this
00:53fantastic community through so much trauma yet again but that's Plaz Refine's
00:59game. They're emotional, they're traumatized, they are, there's health impacts. I mean
01:04this is, as I said, without this community and even the people turning up here now,
01:10what Plaz Refine saw before with over 3,000 submissions, they have no idea what's
01:15coming. Can I tell you, they have absolutely poked the bear and poked it hard
01:21because we are stronger, we are going to unite, like they won't know what's coming.
01:27That's really what's going to happen. We don't know a lot about the forward steps
01:31right now but we will have an action plan as soon as we can get legal advice, all of
01:37those things as to how this unfolds.
01:40Council is with us but it's a matter of finding the right people with the expertise to guide
01:45us. This is out of our wheelhouse. We don't know but we know the council are with us. So
01:52we have council, we have state government, we have Wendy Tuckerman, we have Judy Hannon, we have
01:57ministers from Sydney, you know, Jackie Scrooby, Dr. Sophie Sconce, and we've also just heard
02:04from Carol Berry. Carol Berry is with us against them. This is not the right site. Never has
02:09been, never will be and it will never ever happen a kilometre from the actual site and I am just
02:17basically here because this is the most extraordinary place. You know, we have tourism, we have agriculture,
02:23we have so many fantastic things that this community and this Southern Highlands is known
02:30for and to think that the state government thinks that we should have something like this, you
02:36know, two kilometres from Mossvale. Are you joking? Look at so many places but the biggest threat
02:42still comes back to Sydney's drinking water, the Garvin Institute. It has never been the right
02:48site and as I say again, never will be and never has been and they will not win. We will
02:54win because it's never going to go there.
