China and ASEAN have reaffirmed their economic partnership, concluding negotiations on the CAFTA 3.0, with the signing of the protocol expected later this year.

00:07Both sides have completed negotiations on the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement version 3.0,

00:18Foreign Minister Dato' Sri Mohamed Hassan said this agreement will help strengthen economic cooperation
00:23and resilience between China and ASEAN, especially during these challenging times.
00:28On the issue of South China's Sea, Mohamed said ASEAN is confident in concluding the Code of Conduct in the not-too-distant future,
00:37calling for parties involved in the meantime to exercise prudence.
00:42He also praised China's readiness to sign and ratify the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon Free Zone Treaty,
00:50a key step in non-proliferation efforts.
00:53The summit came amid renewed concerns over U.S. trade tariffs and growing U.S.-China tensions.
