Red Sonja: 40 Jahre nach dem Fantasy-Klassiker kommt jetzt endlich das langersehnte Reboot

Das Reboot von Red Sonja ist bereits seit 2009 geplant und befand sich seitdem in der Produktionshölle. Erst sollte Simon West (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Wild Card) Regie führen, dann Bryan Singer (X-Men, Superman Returns). Letztendlich ist es M.J. Bassett geworden, die bereits an Serien wie Power oder Strike Back mitgewirkt hat.      In die Fußstapfen von Original-Schauspielerin Brigitte Nielsen (Beverly Hills Cop 2, The Guardians of Justice) tritt Matilda Lutz (Revenge, Reptile), die nun die Hauptfigur Red Sonja verkörpern wird.      Worum es geht: Laut der offiziellen Inhaltsangabe muss die Titelheldin eine Armee von Ausgestoßenen um sich versammeln, um ihre Freiheit zurückzugewinnen. Denn Draygan der Prächtige (Robert Sheehan) und seine tödliche Ehefrau Annisia (Wallis Day) unterjochen das Volk.      Wann Red Sonja hierzulande erscheint ist noch nicht bekannt. In den USA feiert der Fantasyfilm am 15. August 2025 sein Kinodebüt und erscheint am 29. August als Video-On-Demand.
