Alex Scott livestock manager David Setches said prices at Leongatha were firm to dearer than last fortnight, with heavy steers weighing 450kg to 520kg making over 500c/kg.

00:00The feedlots were very, very dominant again.

00:03Would have been firm to deer on a fortnight ago.

00:08The feeder cattle, you know, in that sort of 450 to 520 or 30 kilos made up over $5 this week.

00:18And the 550 to sort of 650 kilo steers made well into the high $4 range.

00:24So very, very strong.

00:25You know, there was a number of feedlots, JBS, Campbell Ross was very active.

00:35Very strong as they have been, you know, week on week.

00:39So very pleasing.

00:41This feeder job just keeps getting stronger by the week.

00:46So very, very pleasing.

00:49We could drop down into the weiner cattle.

00:52And again, those sort of 250 to 280 kilo weenic spring drop calves.

00:59Well, they made up over $5 again today, the best of them.

01:02But a lot of them floated in that, you know, $4.60 to $4.80.

01:07And the odd pen made over $5.

01:09So that was very, very good again also.

01:14Over into the heifers.

01:15The heifers took even another rise like the steers did.

01:20Those heavier feeder heifers fall over 400 kilos made up to $4.40 for the sort of feeder weighted cattle.

01:29Dropping down into those lighter heifers, $2.60 to $3.00, they topped down at about $4.19 for a good pen of 260 kilo heifers.

01:41And then you drop down into those lighter cars.

01:43And they bounced around from $3.40 to $3.80 pretty well right through.

01:50And all the pen on quality and breeding.

01:56So, yeah, very, very pleasing.

01:57Very strong market.

01:59Deerer than last week.

02:00Bit of rain around.

02:02And, yeah, it's a fair bit of spark and a bit more competition all around.
