00:00A.D. Vavish, one of Middlesbrough's new coaches under Rob Edwards,
00:04has described his start to life at the Teesside Club as superb.
00:09Yeah, it's been a really interesting couple of weeks, to be honest.
00:12A bit of a whirlwind before that.
00:15I think I was in my house and sitting in the garden,
00:18and then suddenly three hours later I was on the road travelling up to Rockcliffe,
00:22so it hasn't been a moment's peace, if I'm being honest,
00:25but it's been great to be back in, to meeting everybody.
00:29Everyone's been really welcoming around the club.
00:31Everyone I've met around the towns that I've visited has been superb,
00:36and obviously they're really passionate about their club,
00:38and it's been great to see the players first-hand.
00:41Obviously I've coached against quite a lot of them over the years,
00:44and it's been good to get in amongst it and meet everybody.
00:47You mentioned there that it was a bit of a whirlwind when you joined the club.
00:50Can you give a bit of an insight into how it all came about?
00:53Well, I think as Rob's spoken about, we had some meetings,
00:57and we had a coffee, we had a four-hour coffee that turned into lunch,
01:02talking about many things, about our journeys in coaching,
01:06the play-off final, unfortunately.
01:08We talked about that quite a bit,
01:10and the tactical elements that went into the game,
01:12and we just had a really nice conversation.
01:14And Newcastle United are set to complete the signing
01:17of Nottingham Forest's Sweden international midfielder,
01:21Anthony Alanga, for a fee in the region of £55 million plus bonuses.
01:27Anthony Alanga will become Newcastle United's first signing
01:30of this summer transfer window,
01:32and indeed the club's first major signing
01:34for several transfer windows in a row.
01:37Newcastle, of course, have been hamstrung by PSR constraints,
01:40but with the shackles now released slightly,
01:43Alanga is set to jet into Tyneside to complete his medical,
01:46and join the club from Nottingham Forest.
01:50He will play alongside Swedish compatriot Alexander Isak
01:53in Newcastle's front line,
01:55and will fight for the right-wing position at the club
01:58alongside Jacob Murphy,
02:00who had an excellent season at the Magpies just last year,
02:03firing the club into the Champions League.
02:05Newcastle have been looking for a right-winger
02:07since the Saudi-back takeover of the club
02:09in October of 2021,
02:11with Alanga set to fill that hole.
