00:00So, Babette, what we can say of your Giro after these first two days? How is going? What are the feelings?
00:06Yeah, the feelings are good. I tested my legs a little bit yesterday.
00:11And, yeah, we had some bad luck with three of the girls that came down.
00:17So, yeah, we're one last today, unfortunately. But, yeah, we will set our goals for the next coming days.
00:26So, today it's time for Fast Wheels. This stage could fit well on you, especially in the second part. So, what's the plan?
00:33Yeah, I hope today will be a good day. And, yeah, I will try to give everything for the last part of the race.
00:41And, yeah, I will see how I go. But, yeah, if I don't try, we'll never know.
00:46For sure. And what are your team's plans for this Giro?
00:50Yeah, I guess the team plan is every day a new day. And we'll see day by day how it goes, how everybody is feeling.
00:59And I think everybody is super strong on different parts. So, yeah, every day there are different goals for everyone.
01:07And, yeah, I'm actually really excited to see how the girls will smash it every day.
01:12Thank you. Good luck for today. So, Nina, you come from your fourth title in Finland. How important is it to wear your nation's jersey also at the Giro?
01:22I think it's very important. I love wearing the Finnish champs shirt. So, yeah, really happy to bring it here too this year.
01:30And what about these first days? How it's going? How are the legs?
01:34I have been feeling a bit shit. But, yeah, let's hope that's turning around now with maybe possible sprint days coming up. So, yeah.
01:45Looking at today's stage, this could fit perfectly on you, especially in the second part. There's before to reach the peak of Passo del Tonale. So, what's your strategy to face it?
01:55I think I just need to make the climb over in a big enough group that I can come back. But, yeah, we'll see.
02:02Looking at your team, what's your plan, your team's plan for this Giro?
02:07Well, we are running for our leader, Catherine Allerwood. She's in good shape. So, we are hoping to do a good result with her in the GC. So, that's the main goal of the Giro for us.
02:19Thank you so much and good luck. Thank you.
02:21So, Ariana, what an emotional start of the Giro with you, with your family, your friends to support you. Does this give you the energy to face this week?
02:30Yes, for sure. It was an emotional day. The start in Bergamo. The first stage was like a dream for me because it's the start of Giro Rosa. You know, it's one of the most important races in the calendar that we have. And to have around me, my family, my boyfriend and all the support was amazing.
02:51In a recent interview, you say that you are in shape and you hope you have the possibility to share to us. Could it maybe be today?
03:00Yes, we will see maybe today, but I don't know because the start is really hard and depends what the group wants at the end because if they push so hard in the climb and then they go full gas until the end, it's also hard to come back.
03:18For me, I climb quite good, but I'm not a climber and my hope is that I can come back maybe to be in the second group to follow the best and to have a good rider around me and then come back.
03:38And looking at the whole Giro, what's your team plan for this edition?
03:42For sure, our plan is to be like for a good visibility for the team to be in the front as much as possible and maybe to go for a good results in a breakaway, in a sprint or whatever.
03:58But the most important thing for us is to try and to do a good race.
04:07So, Giada, after these first two days of the Giro, how it's going? How are the legs? What are the impressions?
04:13Yesterday I had some stomach problems. I hope today will be better. We will pass close to my home, so I hope to be with a good shape and we will see.
04:28So today will be an important stage, also an emotional stage because you run close to your hometown. What do you expect? Maybe the energy of your people will help you?
04:37I hope so. We will be a lot of support in a class. So yeah, I hope to be there for my supporters. And yeah, we will be maybe a sprint stage, but we will see. We don't know. We don't know. So we will see.
04:57And looking at the whole Giro, what's your plan and your team plan to face this decision?
05:03Support Barbara Malkotti, she's our GC leader. And then try to do some good stage, maybe some breakaway like last year. So yeah, we hope and we fight.
05:22Thank you and good luck for today.
05:24So Kathleen, this is the first time for you at the Giro. How it's going? What are the impressions after these first days?
05:29Oh, it's been an absolute whirlwind. A huge step up for myself and the whole team, I think, but it's been incredibly exciting.
05:37And for team Mendelsbeck and Renato to have the opportunity to race in the Giro for an Italian team is just, it's so exciting and it's just everything to us.
05:47So we're all very excited for the next days to come. It will be, I'm sure, incredibly difficult, but we're all very excited and looking forward to it.
05:54Yeah, we know you're part of a project that brings Australian young talents in Europe to ride, to learn more. Can you tell us more about this project?
06:03Sorry, can you just repeat that? Can you repeat that?
06:07Sure. We know you're part of a project that brings Australian young athletes to Europe to maybe learn some more, some stuff. Can you tell us more about this project?
06:17Sorry, so yes, Valentina Scandalara, she has created a cycling academy down under cycling academy that brings Australians and New Zealanders to Europe because obviously for us it's a long way to come and very difficult.
06:35The racing here is incredibly different, so she sort of nurtures us and fosters us through into the racing in a friendly sort of way.
06:43And for some of us to make the next step into teams like Mendelsbeck is exactly what we want and it's just so exciting and a fantastic opportunity for all of us.
06:53And looking at today's stage, what will be the plan for your team?
06:58I think the hill is clearly the first option to sort of get over that as best as we can and I think tackle that as hard as we possibly can and then do our best in holding position and perhaps trying to get ourselves out in the front and get Mendelsbeck on the TV.
07:19Good luck for today, thank you.
07:21Thank you very much.
07:22So Lorena, how it's going? How are the legs? Are you ready for today?
07:26Yeah, I hope the legs are good. You need good legs for today to survive the climb and to make it a bunch sprint.
07:33Today you are the girl to watch. How you and your team will face this stage?
07:38Yeah, we are really motivated for today. We're looking forward and the most important is the long climb in the beginning and try to don't lose too much time.
07:49And then, yeah, we have a strong team to make it work.
07:53We know that in head to head to sprint you are nearly unbeatable, but do you think there are other riders that maybe could give you a battle?
08:00Yeah, I mean, every sprint is different, so you can be unbeatable all year, but you're never sure. So we have Mariana Foss, of course, and Consoni and probably some other fast sprinters. But, yeah, first we need to survive the climb.
08:18Thank you and good luck for today. Thank you.
