00:00Liane, congratulations. What a way to finish your Giro.
00:03Yeah, super happy. It's a bit unreal to win two stages here.
00:07Unfortunately, we lost the Maglia Rosa.
00:10Marlene was not feeling great, struggling with something.
00:14But we kept on fighting and we said, okay.
00:17Yesterday we accepted, today we go full gas for the stage.
00:21And also great to see the whole team was on fire.
00:24Marlene was riding for me and, yeah, I had the confidence.
00:27I had to finish it off today.
00:29Also for Marlene to make her happy again.
00:32We have seen you close to Marlene.
00:35Then in the attack of Anna van der Breggen, you go with there.
00:39What was in your mind at that moment?
00:41Yeah, I think Marlene and me, we both knew.
00:44Without talking, we know if Anna goes, we have to be there.
00:47So she follow, I follow.
00:48And in the end, I was with Anna.
00:50And perfect situation for me, I think.
00:53So super nice.
00:55So two stage win at the Giro.
00:57If you look back at how you started the Giro and how you finished, what are the emotions,
01:02the feelings?
01:03Yes, super.
01:04It's incredible how I started with thinking, wow, I will not be good.
01:08I will not be good in the tour.
01:10And now with going home with so much confidence, so much looking forward to the tour.
01:14Yeah, it's like a rollercoaster, our sport.
01:17And yeah, everyone has to keep this in mind, I think.
01:20And always look for better times.
01:22They will come.
01:24Congratulations.
01:26Elisa, congratulations for the second time.
01:28You won the Giro d'Italia.
01:30What are the emotions now?
01:31Yeah, I just don't know.
01:34It's been an incredible journey together with my team, the UA Team ADQ.
01:40It's been eight days, completely full gas.
01:45We created actions.
01:47We believed.
01:48We believed every single day.
01:49And we stayed humble.
01:53We went very bold yesterday.
01:57And yeah, we got home this victory that is just the result of days and days of training together,
02:05as I said yesterday, and building up a team towards this goal.
02:12And yeah, I cannot be any more, much more thankful to my teammates than now.
02:20Because if I wear this jersey now, it's because of them.
02:26They all were super committed.
02:27They were never surrendering.
02:31And yeah, I just, I'm just speechless.
02:34Today has never been an easy stage.
02:36We have seen the movies start close to you.
02:38But you and the other girls were very focused on that goal.
02:42How did it go today?
02:44Yeah, today I was very focused on Marlene.
02:47I thought she would attack on the last climb.
02:49But when I saw that she was not moving, I was like, all right, she maybe will give the chance to Liane Lippert.
02:57And so she did.
03:00But for me, it was not a threat.
03:02And when I saw Anna van der Breggen moving together with Liane, I was just like, all right, fine.
03:08And like, I, yeah, I was like, chilling a little bit out because it was really stressful the whole day.
03:16We were super ready to go and super ready to react to any attack.
03:22But in the end, they weren't happening.
03:25But yeah, that's just amazing.
03:28I don't know.
03:28I don't know how to explain it.
03:30Thank you so much and congratulations.
03:33Marlene, during this Giro, we have seen your strength.
03:35We have seen your heart, your tears for the Maglia Rosa.
03:39How are the motion now?
03:41How it went for you?
03:42Yeah, I'm just super, super tired.
03:48Actually, I was sick the last three days.
03:50And really, like, I was not sure if I can start at all today.
03:56Yesterday is so bad.
03:58So I'm super happy that I could somehow save this at least second spot.
04:03But yeah, I'm very, very sad that this happened, that I became sick and, yeah, I'm super proud
04:12of the team that they kept motivating me and that we tried it.
04:16And I think I can be very proud of the fight I gave.
04:20I gave it all.
04:21And now I'm just, I'm sorry, I'm happy also for Leanne, that she won.
04:26I'm just so tired.
04:28For sure.
04:29So done.
04:30We have seen your heart during this Giro, your strength.
04:33I tell once again, if you look back, do you imagine the Giro could be like that for you?
04:41I mean, you have done such an amazing first pass of the Giro, but also the second, in my opinion.
04:46So what do you bring with you after this experience?
04:49Yeah, actually, I am still confident I could have won it.
04:53I'm really like, if I would not become so sick, I think we could have won it.
04:59And I'm really sad for this because you work for so long.
05:03Like, I know from life that it's not always going well.
05:07And the last months or like almost a year now, it's going well.
05:13And I have such a good shape.
05:15And it's not a lot of times in life that these opportunities come.
05:18So I feel really pity a bit that this happened.
05:22But yeah, I'm grateful still to be second.
05:25I mean, that's very, very, very nice in this moment.
05:29So I should not be, yeah, I don't know.
05:33It's both.
05:34It's just, it's crazy.
05:37For sure, we really appreciate the duel between you and Elisa gave us such an interesting way of this Giro.
05:45What do you think about her?
05:47About Elisa and also about the fight you have with her.
05:51Yeah, I think Elisa is a really strong bike racer.
05:55And I also don't want to say she didn't deserve or something.
05:59She really fought hard yesterday.
06:01She really was brave.
06:03She attacked so early.
06:05And I think she deserves.
06:06But I want to face her next time in full health again.
06:09And it's just so shit.
06:12Sorry, I shouldn't say that word.
06:13And we can't wait to see you again in another duel with Elisa, maybe last year.
06:18So thank you so much for all the things you gave to the Giro.
06:22Sarah, at that point I can for sure call you the queen of the Italian mountains.
06:28How do you feel?
06:29Oh, I'm just so thrilled.
06:30I can't believe how well this week went.
06:33And yeah, my team just rode so strongly again.
06:36And yeah, so cohesively.
06:38I'm just so grateful.
06:39All the staff, all the riders, they were all incredible.
06:43And then also the support from back home, all my family and friends.
06:47It's been really wonderful.
06:48So yeah, thank you everyone.
06:49Looking back at some months ago after that important surgery in order to recover,
06:55do you ever expect that things went like that?
06:59Oh, of course not.
07:00I was hoping just to be back racing my bike and riding again without pain.
07:04That was my main concern with the surgery work.
07:07And I can say it 100% worked.
07:10And racing with two legs is very fun.
07:12I think I have to send an email to my surgeon when I get home tomorrow and say,
07:17hey, thank you.
07:18It worked.
07:18What feelings, what emotions you'll bring for you in Australia after this Giro?
07:24Yeah, I'm just still in shock.
07:28I think it will take a while to sink in.
07:30But yeah, mainly just so appreciative and grateful to my team
07:34and also everyone that supported me over the really hard last seven months.
07:38We can't wait to see you back even the last year.
07:42For now, congratulations, Gabe.
07:44Yeah, thank you.
07:44I really hope to race the Giro next year.
07:47Antonia, congratulations.
07:48You start the Giro with a white jersey.
07:50You end the Giro with a white jersey.
07:52What are the feelings now?
07:53Yeah, it's really nice that I could secure the white jersey.
07:56And I'm happy about that, that I have, like, finally something from the Giro.
08:01Like, I always missed it out somehow.
08:03So, yeah, it's a nice treat.
08:05How it went, the Giro, in order of legs and also in order of motions?
08:11Yeah, I think I went to every motion, the whole Giro.
08:15And, like, for sure, some days were, like, harder.
08:18Some days, like, mentally, some days more for the body.
08:21Like, it was really, like, up and downs.
08:24But it was a nice Giro.
08:25I really enjoyed it.
08:26And, yeah, it's just, like, one of my favorite races.
08:30And also today, in order to keep the Maglia, I think it was and have been so easy
08:35because we have seen the attack of Isabella Holmgren.
08:37So, what do you think about today?
08:40Yeah, today was a super hard stage for closing the Giro.
08:43So, yeah, for sure.
08:45I was a little bit nervous, but I knew that I had good legs today
08:48and that I can ride this kind of parkour quite well.
08:52So, I wasn't too worried about it.
08:55Like, I knew that I can go with the attacks if I'm in a good position.
08:58And the team really helped me to always stay in the front, to always be there.
09:02So, yeah, it was, like, for me, it was, like, quite okay.
09:06Congratulations. Thank you so much.
09:08Thank you so much.
09:10Lorena, congratulations.
09:11We know the Maglia Rossa wasn't your first goal, but now you have it.
09:15And I think you enjoyed it.
09:17Yes, yes, I really enjoyed it.
09:18I had to be a bit more, yeah, or to survive the first.
09:22It was my first climb today, and it succeeded, and even I rode away in the down wheel.
09:28And, yeah, it was a nice day out in the breakaway also.
09:32Yeah, so looking at today's stage, we have seen you attacking.
09:35We have seen you still with a lot of strength, like it wasn't the eighth date of the Giro.
09:40So, how do you feel now?
09:42My legs are smashed, so I feel the legs, and I felt it during the stage, but I enjoyed it today.
09:48And it's better like this than being dropped on one of the first climbs.
09:52Looking at your Giro, looking back at those days, are you satisfied with what you have done?
09:58Yeah, I'm happy also with the shape and how this Giro went, and I think I can look with some confidence towards the next races.
10:07And as I say, I really enjoyed it here, so it's been a nice week.
10:11Thank you so much, and we can't wait to see you next year.
