Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), July 07, 2025(ANI): Secretary (Economic Relations) Dammu Ravi said, "Para 34 (of BRICS declaration) says that condemnation of terrorism in all its manifestations, including those who abet, who finance either covertly or overtly. There is also a reference to the cross-border movement of terrorists and the listing of terror groups. There is also strong support for the Comprehensive Convention against Terrorism, which was India's initiative in the UN for a long time... That message is very clear to our neighbours..."

01:05of terrorism and how it can be, how it needs to be condemned, tackled not by just us. You

01:13know, there is a solidarity, there is a universal condemnation, which means all the countries

01:20are against it in any form. So, that message is very clear to our neighbors.

01:27I will… Let me mention about the BRICS cross-border payments, you know, which Meghna has just brought

01:37it out and the debt servicing issues. I think this is a concern post-COVID, as you all know,

01:43countries economically have become weak in the Global South, and that is truly the concern

01:50of the BRICS countries. Because BRICS, in some sense, you know, represent Global South countries,

01:58a multipolarity in its strongest terms, because there is a diversity in the BRICS countries.

02:06So, this was one of the ideas. Now, what are they looking for? Countries are looking for

02:12alternatives. Interoperability payment is a faster mechanism in terms of able to do cross-border

02:21trading. And this is a low-cost solution. India has been successfully implemented it and

02:27we are also entering into bilateral arrangements with many countries. So, within the BRICS track,

02:33there is a discussion on it. We are hopeful that in the days to come there will be traction

02:39and countries will accept it, as it is beneficial to most of them.
