New Delhi, July 07, 2025 (ANI): AAP MP and Chair, BRICS Agri Council, Vikramjit Singh said that the engagement of PM Modi with BRICS members was fruitful as the members have supported India’s stance on many domains. "Engagements of our Prime Minister were very fruitful for India and as we know, the BRICS declaration has explicitly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, J&K. There is also a reference of cross-border terrorism, which is a big diplomatic win for India. BRICS nations have fully supported India's proposal to host COP-33 in 2028... BRICS nations have also supported India's permanent membership to the UNSC, and China and Russia are signatories to it... India has championed barrier-free trade..." said Vikaramjit Singh.

00:00I think that engagements of our Honorable Prime Minister were very fruitful for India.
00:07And as we know that the BRICS declaration explicitly have condemned the terrorist attack in Pehalgaam, Jammu and Kashmir.
00:16And together with, there is a reference on cross-border terrorism, which I feel is a strong diplomatic win for India.
00:24And also, BRICS nations have fully supported India's proposal to host Conference of Parties COP33, which is the United Nations Framework on Climate Change, in 2028.
00:40And we do hope that the BRICS support for India will host this major conference in India.
00:46It reflects the global confidence in India's leadership to address the climate change.
00:52Other things which have been appreciated in BRICS have recognized India's efforts to AI governance, digital technology, including like e-commerce, our UPI payments at the grassroots level, fintech innovation and cyber security.
01:07And also, BRICS have very pleasantly supported India's permanent membership to United Nations Security Council.
01:16And of course, this declaration and everybody, including China and Russia, are signatory to it.
01:24So it's very significant development for all the countries, including these two, advocate for India's permanent membership in UNSC.
01:33And India have championed a barrier-free trade, you know, that which has been discussed previously in the BRICS conference, and the new development bank that BRICS trade should happen in local currencies, aligning with the like vision for global economic system, rather than depending on just one or two currencies.
01:56So this is very significant development and we do hope that this India's full support to this system of the settling payments in payment clearing mechanism in the local currencies among the for intra-BRICS trade.
02:11And also there was significant appreciation by the BRICS on India's startup forum, India's startup knowledge forum, as the India startup program have produced many unicorns.
02:25And as a BRICS, chair of BRICS Agri Council, I personally have been advocating for the food security for African countries.
02:32And there also it was highlighted India's major concern on the global supply chain challenges and shortages faced in food, fuel and fertilizers.
