00:20Fildanis Mart, said her 53-year-old husband was very active in football and was serving
00:26as a goalkeeping coach for the Penang Football Academy. Speaking to reporters after Firoz's
00:31burial at the Ridwania Mosque Muslim Cemetery in Sungai Batu on Sunday, Fildanis shared that her
00:38husband showed no signs of discomfort before the match and had played energetically, especially in
00:44the final quarter when their team was trailing 0-1 to the ex-Kirda side. However, just two minutes
00:51before the match ended, Firoz suddenly collapsed on the field. Manjung District Police Chief ACP
00:57Hasbullah Abdurrahman later confirmed that Firoz died of a heart attack. His body was prepared for
01:03burial with funeral rites held at Kampung Melayu Surau in Ayer Itam. The burial was attended by over
01:10100 people, including family, friends and members of the football community. Fildanis said the family
01:17remains deeply shaken by the sudden loss, particularly their youngest son, Mohamed Feriel Darnish,
01:24who fainted after rushing to the field and finding his father unconscious. Despite the grief,
01:30Feriel expressed his resolve to stay strong and continue pursuing his studies in sports education,
01:36aspiring to become a sports teacher. Meanwhile, ex-Penang team coach and former state player Radzwan
01:42Puta revealed that Firoz had complained of chest pain during training the previous week,
01:47but did not seek further medical attention, saying he had recovered. Radzwan, who also heads the Penang
01:54Football Players Association, described Firoz's passing as a tremendous loss to the football community
02:00in Penang and Malaysia.
