Police are investigating a shooting incident at a petrol station in Gelangpata, Johor,
00:07
believed to be connected to the discovery of a man's body dumped at Sultana Amina Hospital on Thursday.
00:14
Iskandar Puteri OCPD Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said police were alerted to the case
00:21
at about 1.40 a.m. when the body of a 42-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds was left at the
00:28
hospital without any identification documents. Fingerprint checks revealed the victim was from
00:34
Sungai Patani, Keda, and had four prior criminal records. A post-mortem later confirmed that he
00:41
died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen. CCTV footage from the hospital showed two
00:48
unidentified individuals fleeing the scene after dropping off the body. Police believe the incident
00:54
is linked to a violent robbery that occurred earlier at around 12.12 a.m., involving a group
01:01
of men armed with parrings who attacked another group, one of whom was carrying a firearm, resulting
01:06
in shots being fired. A police team later arrested three male suspects, two locals and one Indian
01:13
national, aged between 30 and 40, around Dangwangi, Kuala Lumpur, at around 7 p.m., the same day.
01:21
A Glock 19 pistol, a firearms and ammunition license, a magazine containing six 9mm bullets,
01:29
a black Honda Accord, and several bullet casings were also seized. One of the suspects,
01:35
a personal bodyguard, was found to hold a valid firearms license, but further investigations are
01:41
underway to determine the legitimacy of the firearms use. All three suspects have been remanded for seven
01:48
days until July 10, under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Investigations are ongoing to
01:56
establish the connection between the victim and the suspects, as well as the link between both incidents.
