00:57Ultimately, they both believe in truth and justice and the relentless pursuit of it,
01:03but they often have different ideas about how to get there.
01:06She's somebody who's 10 steps ahead of everyone else and really prides herself on that,
01:11and he's someone who's radically present and kind of addressing the next right thing in front of him.
01:17We were kind of thrown together last minute.
01:19We didn't expect to read together, and I know you were jet-lagged and on no sleep,
01:23and I had just been strung up by wires for the first time for the stunt evaluation, essentially.
01:30So when we met and sat down to read the scene for the first time,
01:32I feel like we both had this sense of we really want to take care of each other.
01:36Like, we want to make sure that the other person feels comfortable,
01:39and we're both kind of in a whirlwind right now.
01:42But then, as soon as the scene starts, we have to immediately start going at each other
01:46and calling each other out on each other's, you know, bullshit and whatnot.
01:49So that kind of was a perfect way to start that relationship.
01:52Yeah, you know, you guys came with the chemistry.
01:55I mean, I've worked with—it's hard to explain what chemistry is.
01:59I really don't know what it is.
02:00I know that I have worked with other romantic couples on screen who don't have it.
02:08There's just—you just can't see it.
02:10And you can kind of force it through editing and working and trying to get the music right and everything.
02:17But with these two, they came and they started interacting.
02:20And it was just there.
02:22It was like an electricity.
02:33The fun thing about Superman is his reason for an alter ego, I think, is slightly different than most superheroes.
02:38I think the classic reason is to protect your loved ones, to be able to continue living your normal life.
02:45And I think for Superman, he would be very happy to live his normal life as Superman.
02:50I think he has a very full life as Superman.
02:52He has a relationship with Lois and these other metahumans in this world that James has created as Superman.
02:58So his reason for taking on the persona of the Daily Planet Clark Kent, I think, is more about his love for humanity
03:10and his desire to explore and experience really what it's like to be a person.
03:23I'm such a research nerd. I loved the opportunity to get to try to find a way into all of your heads.
03:31If I could, I would spend many more hours peppering you with questions.
03:35But I had the opportunity to talk to a couple investigative journalists
03:38and I have a newfound appreciation for the work that journalists do.
03:42And particularly, there's a conversation around ethics in journalism
03:45and journalistic integrity that's important in this movie.
04:03¡Gracias!
