Gujarat Secretariat goes green with in-house reusable glass water bottling plant

Gandhinagar (Gujarat), July 02 (ANI): In a landmark eco-initiative, the Gujarat Secretariat has replaced single-use plastic bottles with reusable glass ones. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the ‘Sakhi Neer’ Eco-Friendly Glass Water Bottling Facility in Gandhinagar, backed by the Forest & Environment Department. This in-house plant, one of the first of its kind in a state government complex, is run by a women-led Sakhi Mandal. The move reduces plastic waste, supports self-reliant women, and cuts down water logistics. Strict hygiene protocols will be followed in bottle reuse. The Gujarat government reinforces its commitment to sustainability through such green innovations, promoting both environmental conservation and social empowerment.
