00:00Hello and welcome to Tuesday morning's transfer roundup from the Scotsman football team. My
00:07name's Graeme Falk and I'm going to be looking over some of the main headlines from the Scottish
00:11Premiership this morning. But let's start with some really interesting news from Celtic actually.
00:16It's been a funny old month for the Scottish champions in some ways. They have started the
00:20season in typically strong fashion with wins over Aberdeen and St Mirren of course but it's clear
00:25that they're hoping to add a little bit more to their arsenal over their transfer window before
00:29comes to a close on September 1st. But maybe one move that some people wouldn't have expected and
00:34has been touted over the past 24 hours, a little bit out of the blue, it's Scotland international
00:39Andy Irvin from West Ham United. Central midfield is an area where Celtic are actually extremely
00:45packed with Callum McGregor, Rio Tate, Arnott Engels, Luke McCowan, Benjamin Negrin, Paolo Bernardo,
00:52they're all capable in that position so it's not like they need to add anything extra to it but
00:57according to reports from London the club had a bid of around ÂŁ2.2 million rejected which is
01:03around ÂŁ1.75 with add-ons included for further incentives and this claims that if they can reach
01:10a bid of up to ÂŁ3.5 million that is one that could come to fruition. Nothing massively developing at the
01:18moment outside of that but look let's see how that one develops because I think Celtic are going to be
01:23strengthening before the window closes but central midfield may be not an area where they necessarily
01:28need to strengthen massively but look Andy Irvin's a Scotland national middie's debut against
01:34Lichtenstein I believe in June so certainly one to keep an eye on I think that one but look one story
01:39that is really close to completion is that of real best defender Nobel Mendy who is reported to be
01:47travelling to Glasgow as we speak to undergo a medical with Rangers. Rangers have been extremely
01:54busy in the transfer window but have had a well the worst start since 1989 in the league after drawing
02:01against both Motherwell last weekend sorry two weeks ago and also drawing at home in their opening
02:08home game of the season at Ibrex against Dundee 1-1. The 20 year old is set with agreed personal
02:14terms with both Rangers and Rio Vallecano last week but he's opted to move to Scotland over the weekend
02:20with a fee understood to be in the region of around €3 million again. There will be further add-ons
02:26included in that deal if reports are to be believed but more interesting news perhaps is coming from
02:33Brazil with Rangers supposedly in discussions over a departure for left-back Yefte. Palmeiras have opened
02:42talks over a ÂŁ5 million move for the defender again I will report that is just based on reports in
02:47Brazil but they're saying that there's a discussion over that move and that ÂŁ5 million transfer could
02:54happen by the end of the transfer window again another one to really keep an eye on with that. Yefte of
02:59course was linked to Chelsea last year and ÂŁ5 million I don't know it seems relatively low based on maybe the
03:07the fees that were bandied about close to January but again he hasn't he said well he's had a he's had
03:13an up and down first year at Rangers I think that's one that I think we would need to keep an eye on though
03:20you know I'm not entirely sure 100% whether that would be something that Rangers would want to do and
03:25weaken their left-hand side of course Max Ahrens started the season at left-back. Yefte has come back in recently but
03:32with Yilmaz on the way out it does seem a strange one that Rangers would love to weaken a position
03:37where they're not massively strong at the moment but look staying with four backs but moving to the
03:42capital and looking at Hearts. Hearts are considering cutting short Adam Forrester's loan deal it's in
03:48Johnson after just five days after an injury to new signing Christian Borcher-Grevink
03:54the Norwegian is expected to be out for around six to eight weeks with a thigh injury and Hearts
04:03head coach Derek McInnes is now going to assess Forrester in a bounce game against Ross County
04:08which is scheduled for a day before deciding whether to bring him back to the club as cover for his
04:13injured defender but that's sort of all from this morning I'm sure there'll be more breaking news and
04:18more transfer news as the as the day progresses and as the week progresses and of course the window
04:23comes to a close on September the 1st but please keep an eye on scotsman.com for all the latest news
