00:00cooper flag as expected was the number one overall pick to the dallas mavericks of course the mavericks

00:05winning the draft lottery and moving to the top of the pile uh one thing flag is definitely going

00:11to have to worry i know that all matters is his game but uh he got work on talking the media he

00:17is as stiff as a board uh he gives you basically a bunch of one word answers but he did get excited

00:23uh when he was asked about being the face of maine basketball scotty which has such a large history

00:28um it it means a lot to me you know to have the support of the whole state and you know i know

00:34how many people showed up today and supported me at some of the draft parties back home so

00:38and it feels amazing um knowing i can inspire younger kids um i mean i was in their shoes

00:42really not that long ago so just to know i can give give those kids those feelings um and have

00:48the whole state behind me it means a lot it means a lot very exciting i actually got a kick out of

00:53seeing all the people in maine partying uh for their boy uh he's a hell of a basketball player

00:59you know i've loved his game like i think everyone else when you watch him play he's just scintillating

01:06i think he's a complete basketball player he does everything well he's amazing and he was amazing

01:14in uh high school he was amazing you know at a national level he was playing big time high school

01:22basketball and he was like 15 and 16 years old it was no joke and then he ends up at duke and i you

01:29know the minute he went to duke we said that he would you know go win a national championship in his

01:34in his year at duke and he went to the final four and fell short but he was amazing uh at duke without

01:42a doubt and i think he'll be amazing in the nba i just think he's a unique special talent with all the

01:50skills in the world and he's so long his arms scrape the sidewalk he's he's a leaper he's a dunker

01:58he's a finisher he can shoot he's got moves he's got footwork he's got hands he's got great instincts

02:05there's just no denying uh that he's the best player hands down in fact um

02:12literally no one else is even close to him that that's how i think the draft was

02:19weak i really do at the end of the day like you know derrick queen was one of the most exciting

02:27players in college basketball was he not at maryland was he not one of the most exciting

02:32players in the country they treated him like a like a bag of garbage like he didn't even matter

02:38in this draft like he doesn't even matter i don't care what anybody says when you go that low you

02:43don't matter i don't care if it's in the first round uh these guys like dylan harper i think

02:50obviously i know dylan and i know how hard he works and he deserves it there's no denying he's a special

02:58talent but in my view he's nowhere near cooper flag not even in the same stratosphere so i think he's

03:06going to fit beautifully in san antonio with all that young talent they have they're they're studs

03:11and i think they'll be really good but without popovich i'm not buying that coach that they gave

03:17that job to and that they're just going to go win a title i think wendy's going to win all kinds of

03:22defensive player of the year awards and league mvps in short order very soon and then i still think

03:29cooper flag's better off in dallas with the team that he's going to be playing with

03:34than i believe in that spurs team finishing anything like you know deep playoff runs or otherwise
