00:00Just wanted to get, Coach, any one decision that really stood out to you?
00:05You know, on the coaches with JY a couple of days ago, I had Jay Billis on.
00:11And when Jay and I kind of got into what is going on, and it's very simple.
00:16The amount of money these kids are getting NIL is surpassing what they're going to get their first year in
00:21the NBA.
00:22Tunde Yesifu got $6 million from St. John's.
00:26That would have been equivalent, I think, if he was the number eight draft pick.
00:30So now if you're getting more money, right, than you could by going pro,
00:37and then you turn around and increase your draft odds by going higher in a weaker draft,
00:45Yesifu was the one that made sense.
00:47Well, it was interesting because of the fact that he was a first-round pick going to St. John's,
00:53is now with a dynamic backward of Ian Jackson and Ken Ellis.
00:55Watch this Ken Ellis out of the U.K.
00:58He's one of the top European point guards this year.
01:00We'll give Patino a great three-guard lineup.
01:03But on the flip side, I'm looking at Koi Pete.
01:06A guy that burst onto the scenes with a 27-point performance,
01:09his first game of his collegiate career, dealt with injuries.
01:13And, Kevin, I thought at one point during the year,
01:15you and I were talking like this guy was top 10.
01:17Again, he's sliding down the draft boards.
01:21And if Koi Pete went buries leaving, with the other kid leaving,
01:25he could have went to Arizona, got the bag,
01:29and maybe he would have been playing himself into a top 10, top 5 pick next year.
01:33So it's interesting how different people do it.
01:36Sometimes they do it, folks, also because they want to start the clock earlier,
01:41meaning get your rookie deal, get it over with, so then you get the extension faster.
01:47That's the number one reason, folks, why Cooper Flagg did not go,
01:51you know, wanted to stay at Duke, honestly, didn't leave,
01:54because he would have left $75 million on the table.
01:57You're not making that money back.
01:58So there's two different ways to look at it.
02:00I think Koi Pete made a mistake.
02:02I would have went back.
02:04Yesifu, smart move, going to St. John's,
02:07get some money, improve the stock for next year.
02:09Yeah, the biggest thing to me is the Momchilevich decision giving Mark Pope
02:19one final chance at really flipping around this offseason at Kentucky.
02:26I don't know if people will grade it as a successful offseason if he lands Momchilevich.
02:32People are going to go nuts if he does not, and rightfully so.
02:37But all of a sudden, Momchilevich, Malachi, Moreno, frontcourt's pretty exciting.
02:43A lot of people like the guards they were able to bring over.
02:46I'm not saying people are going to be betting Kentucky to win the title.
02:49Look, this, remember how, so not last season, but two seasons ago,
02:53we had a clear top four, Auburn, Florida.
02:57Help me out here, JY.
03:00Houston and Duke, of course, right?
03:02And those, they were all the one seeds, and they all just went right to the final four,
03:06and they were the best teams.
03:07We might have that, but from day one next year, all right?
03:10Because there are just some out-of-this-world rosters in college.
03:14But Pope has a chance to really salvage things in Kentucky.
