00:00Regional hospitals, disaster-hit communities and farming biosecurity efforts were among
00:04the biggest regional priorities in the 2025 NSW state budget. More than $3.5 billion will
00:11be spent on hospitals across NSW, including upgrades in Gunnedah, Forbes and Wollongong,
00:18with extra money to cut surgery backlogs and improve mental health infrastructure.
00:23Disaster recovery funding will hit $4.2 billion, though that figure is expected to rise after
00:30recent flooding across the mid-north coast and Hunter regions.
00:35For farmers, $100 million was earmarked for biosecurity, including $9.3 million to fight
00:42feral pests and $45 million to boost digital tools and connectivity on-farm. Developers will
00:50additionally get finance guarantees to fast-track 5,000 new homes statewide in hopes of easing
00:57the rental and housing crisis. Cost of living relief outside of that remained limited,
01:04but energy rebates and rural hospital parking exemptions will continue.
