00:00We Liberal Democrats think it is really important that the UK is not dragged into this war between
00:05Iran and Israel. We join the government in calling for de-escalation and diplomacy but we
00:12Liberal Democrats want this government to publish any legal advice that they may have received
00:17about the legality or otherwise of the UK potentially joining this war. Back in 2003 the UK
00:23was dragged blindly into backing the US in the Iraq war against the wishes of the United Nations
00:31and without their backing and so given that precedent we do really want to see this Labour
00:37government, today's Labour government, make it clear that they will publish any legal advice that
00:41they receive. Well we Liberal Democrats have repeatedly said that we think that Donald Trump
00:46is an unreliable and unpredictable partner but right now given the threat in the region and
00:53the war between Iran and Israel we want the British government to work as closely as possible
00:58behind the scenes and overtly to make it very clear that the UK will not get dragged into
01:03this war between Iran and Israel and that's really really critical that all allies including
01:08the US stand together in calling for de-escalation and diplomacy.
