Police appeal for dashcam after man's body found beside Newell Highway

Detective Chief Inspector Jy Brown issues appeal to Newell Highway drivers with dashcam to come forward the day after a man's body was found near Jerilderie on June 17, 2025. Murray River Police District is investigating.

00:00Yeah we did, we did undertake a police operation yesterday after we located a

00:05deceased male we believe to be in his 40s, just south of Giroudary, approximately

00:10five kilometres and near the intersection of Willows Road. During that

00:18investigation, which is still currently in its infancy, we've got a number of

00:23inquiries we have to make and that deceased male person is still yet to be formally

00:27identified by us. I'm appealing for any member of the public that may have

00:33passed through that location from midnight on Monday the 16th of June through

00:39until midday yesterday Tuesday the 17th of June that may have captured any

00:45footage on dashcam recording. I'm urging anyone who may have caught any footage in

00:52that vicinity to please review that footage and if they identify anything they

00:57perhaps think that police may be interested in, can I please urge any

01:00member of the public to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and get in

01:06touch with the police to pass on that information.
