Darrell Clarke expresses hunger for success at Bristol Rovers

00:00Bristol Rovers head coach Daryl Clarke has outlined that he has a hunger for his job at the Memorial Stadium

00:06in terms of making sure that Bristol Rovers are as competitive as possible going into next season in League Two.

00:15I ain't coming back if I'm not hungry. For me, I've got unfinished business here.

00:22It was the last year of my time here. It was very disappointing.

00:26I know why it was disappointing. I held myself responsible for that.

00:31But I feel like there now is the potential of the club.

00:35I didn't necessarily have the finances when I was here last time to push on from League One to the Championship.

00:42I feel that the owners have backed the managers very well.

00:48For whatever reason, a lot's gone wrong.

00:49I think I'll get the backing to be able to kick us on and hopefully get this challenge in eventually

00:54to try and enable us to get in the Championship.

00:57But let's make no, it's not going to be easy.

01:01There's going to be loads of speed bumps in the road.

01:03We've got to get out of League Two first.

01:04There's a hell of a task when you've been relegated.

01:09And Bristol City still remain without a successor to Liam Manning at Ashton Gate.

01:15With names such as Rob Edwards, Michael Carrick and Gerhard Struber still being branded about as potential replacements.

01:22Definitely, definitely. I think it is that.

01:27Believe me, I'm fully emotional inside.

01:30I feel everything that everybody else does.

01:32But I think I have to act like I need the lads too.

01:36So I have to role model what they want for me personally.

01:38And that's kind of been a part of my philosophy.

01:40I think, you know, if the lads see me jumping around like a madman with no control,

01:43I can't expect them to be any different on the pitch.

01:45So, yeah, that was one.

01:47I remember the, yeah, Pat punched me on the first goal.

01:51He went to give me a hug around Huggy and punched me in the side of the head.

01:53So it was, again, a special memory, which is what the game's about.

01:57And I think that's what we've been able to do this season.

01:59I think, you know, with fans on the road, fans at home, with the players, you know,

02:03Corns away at Millwall, again, another special memory for him and the lads and that.

02:09And, yeah, it's what the game's about.

02:11It's about creating memories.
